I don't have much advice for the business idea, other than it would be hard to build without trust/reputation. It'd have to start as very low-cost or free consultations that eventually build your reputation. That being said, it probably would have helped me out ~3 years ago when I was buying my '98 328i. I absolutely love my car but at the time I overpaid for a car with near-blown (or blown) suspension, the usual dumping-fluid power steering system, and a leaky radiator. I don't regret it one bit, but had the car started in nicer condition, I wouldn't have minded [image: :)]

I also need to address a few maintenance items before hitting the road. Planning to overhaul the cooling system, new fluids, and tires to name a few.  Any other recos for a long-distance trip? It'll be my first 1,000+ mile trip in the M.

Yep sweet car. Very prepped m3, runs in GTS5 class. To get a sense of speed difference. Fastest SpecE30 ran a best lap of 1:42:9 in today's race. The M3 ran a 1:32.3

I have a feeling the only reason the lap times were identical is due to the M235i's braking prowess, as well as the endless torque to propel it coming out of the corners. CSL was easily the more balanced body going through the turns.

I just had a driveshaft done at A-1 last week.  It's installed already but it's a project track car that has never run, so it may be a while before i can tell you how it is.  Looked good, nice guys, I'd go back unless I have some kind of catastrophic failure

Forgot to post here to but I saw an i3 at the Milwaukee Auto Show. I can't say I was amazed by it but I'd take one over a smart car if I had to make the choice.  Last week I was in talking with one of the owners of Concours BMW who just got back from the BMW sales convention in Las Vegas. He showed me cool pictures of the carbon fiber shells and drivetrains for the i3 and I8 and told me some stuff he learned. BMW is still staying pretty quiet about the details even to dealers, so I'm thinking this car is being rushed into production. One thing he was trying to get answers on was what the winter performance would be like here in WI and they wouldn't give any answers [image: :(] He's also has no idea how the extended range vehicle loaner program is gonna work out.

I've actually had really good luck so far with ebay. Parts are usually anywhere from somewhat to insanely less expensive, and I've not had an issue yet with fit or compatibility. So far I've obtained complete brakes, muffler/exhaust pipe, wheel bearings, and a few other odds and ends from eBay with no problems, although I always go to RealOEM first and get the part number, then paste it into the eBay search bar. Nearly every other on-line parts source I've checked out is at least as expensive, if not insanely more so. An excellent example is a new Idle Air Control Valve. I was able to clean mine, thank God, so I didn't have to replace it (yet). However, when I was looking for new replacements, I found that Pelican wants well over $330 for a new one. I've seen some as high as $450! On eBay, I can get a brand new one for around half that. $170 still isn't cheap, and I'm sure it probably isn't quite the same quality as OEM, but, it's a lot less than Pelican or anywhere else I've looked! So far I've only encountered a few things that are just as expensive on eBay as at the parts stores, or other on-line sources. What I can't get on eBay I usually can get from the dealership for about the same price as anywhere else.

Even e28 prices have risen lately I picked mine up locally for $800 and drove it for 2 years and got a parts car for $500 very recently and it was like pulling teeth to get it for that I think people are realizing there are fewer and fewer each day and that round badge on the front rear and on the steering wheel is fetching premo dollars now
