Beyond the mind meltingly cool cars (S38 swapped E9, anyone?), it’s a fantastic group of degenerates that all love this old iron and want to keep them on the road. I met so many people with wonderful stories to tell, from a woman who took Euro delivery of her ‘76 2002 and still owns it, to teenagers buying their first projects, and everything in between. I’ve been less active with cars the last few years but this brought it back fast. Like the sticker says, do it for the kink.

In my opinion its kind of crazy that the "i" has lasted as long as it has and that this is a good change. I still think that the naming nomenclator of BMW models is somewhat confusing once the marketing team got involved, but this is probably a step in the right direction to simplification.

I saw an XM yesterday, didn’t know what it was at first but wasn’t about the design at all.
besides the lip under the rear window that is also an ugly carry over from the SUV’s I like this as well. I think the tail lights and mid section of the rear have some Z8 influence.
I would be surprised if we got it too but seems like it’s different enough from the Supra coupe that it could be marketed at a higher price point.

The XM is atrocious. If you wanted that kind of styling, why wouldn’t you buy a Urus or something instead? That’s who I think they’re chasing, the RSQ8 (which I think looks way better still), Urus, big flabby ostentatious SUV market.

Give me as much Z8 influence as possible I think they might have a slot to market it as more of a GT alternative to the Supra sports car; soften it up, make it sporty but long distance comfy and be the perfect stylish 2 person touring car. I don’t think a sports car like that makes sense with the two series/M2 and Supra already existing. I think it’s not likely it ever sees production either way though.

Generally speaking, power upgrades with EV’s is going to be much harder than with IC’s.

I had never used it before, but we made sure to book with a host that had a bunch of excellent reviews because I'm sure all it takes is a crappy host to ruin the whole thing. We paid the cleaning fee upfront and an extra fee to have it parked in the airport parking when we arrived vs. their standard pickup location. Overall I'd say it was a good experience though it was definitely a little bit more effort than a standard rental. One of the 'downsides' was that I did feel like I had to be a lot more responsible with this car because it was someone's personal car, vs. a random rental through a major company. I'd say I would do it again, but only if I really wanted to rent something cool/specific or if it's really the only option.

Hello,
I am trying to figure out sway bar setup for my e21. I have e36 front suspension sway and e28 rear but stock e28 rear bar is not ideal because the bump in the middle to clear e28 diff mount and e36  front has too much hanging below the frame rails.

Looking at the pictures it seems that e30 might be a good match.

Could someone please measure their front and rear sway bars for me?
I am looking for the arm lenght and width between the arms. Also if there is a part of the bar that hangs lower than the arms it would be nice to know how much lower it is.
Thank You

I can take a look tomorrow for you if I remember.

That’s a lot of fuel money

I think like that too, but then realize how many people drive 13-17 mpg V8 pickup trucks their whole lives.
I usually end up at 18-19 mpg but have seen 24-25 on long trips in mine.
