Hi,
I am looking for e36 manual zf320 driveshaft with a 4 bolt flange or e30 manual (m20/g260) driveshaft. Or any other bmw driveshaft with a 4 bolt flange that is roughly 1480-1490mm (~58.375”) long.
Thanks.
I have bunch of e21 parts that i will let go for cheap.
3.91 diff- $20 picked up
Trailing arms with fairly new brakes and poly bushes -$20 picked up
Stock sway bar with poly bushes- $1.25
Early strut housings with e12 5x120 hubs -$150
Late coilover strut housing modified to use Koni race dampers (50mm tubes) -$150
Some m10 seals and timing stuff-free
No need for BB code, it will auto embed with just the short url itself. Just paste the url, then hit return/enter and the editor will embed the photo.

Most forum software including IP.Board are moving away from BBcode in favor of formatting in html instead. Not sure if this was removed in the recent 4.5 software update I did last month but I can look into more details.

Hello,
I am trying to figure out sway bar setup for my e21. I have e36 front suspension sway and e28 rear but stock e28 rear bar is not ideal because the bump in the middle to clear e28 diff mount and e36 front has too much hanging below the frame rails.
Looking at the pictures it seems that e30 might be a good match.
Could someone please measure their front and rear sway bars for me?
I am looking for the arm lenght and width between the arms. Also if there is a part of the bar that hangs lower than the arms it would be nice to know how much lower it is.
Thank You
I can take a look tomorrow for you if I remember.
I had some timing cover leaks that I had to fix.

Brakes are done. I used stainless hard lines which do not seal as well at the fittings as NiCopp lines. I had couple small leaks. A bit more torque at the fittings fixed the issue.
Clutch hydraulic lines are done and it looks like clutch works ok.
I put driveshaft, diff and axles in. Tightened whole front suspension minus tie rods.
I still need to shorten stock e36 tie rods for this setup to work.
I have a z4 manual rack that I will put in I just need to figure out the splines. I hope they are the same as e36 rack so I could reuse my Woodward u-joints.
Valve cover lost its beautiful blue color for the more modest wrinkle black

The stupid intake manifold flange was warped. And my shitty welds were full of pinholes. No wonders that I could not set the idle below 1.2k rpm.

2 hours later and the flange started too look flat again

I spent whole evening chasing pinholes. I think I got them all.
I welded new downpipe and rest of the exhaust. Its a 3" going into borla XR-1 muffler to Vibrant super quiet resonator and side exits on the driver side.
I still need to weld a beauty ring for the side exit. I got a 4" stainless pipe for this.

Hello,
I am looking for the engine block either m20,m42,m5x. Can be chopped in half ( need transmission side), ventilated or whatever as long as i would be able to bolt zf320 to it.
The cheaper the better. Also closer to chicago the better.
Thanks
I have a late M42 upper intake manifold With TB and air flow meter. Come pick it up. Located in the Chicago area.

@The Full Banana made an adapter plate for a getrag to mate to one of the volvo motors.
Yup he is sporting getrag 265 mated to volvo whiteblock.
I guess ill rotate it and if it wont work i will move to Australia. or cut the bellhousing and reweld it at proper angle whichever comes cheaper.
I am mainly after the upper. The m42 will go into e21 most likely vert mounted so i will need to fabricate the lower pan anyway.

I believe I have a spare upper, but it's in my storage unit in Appleton, and I don't get up there too often anymore.
let me know if you want to sell it.
That m5x would have to be turbo.
The 300 that its in the truck now makes probably 200hp and 230-250lbft at the wheel at probably 1200-1900rpm with a stunning redline of 4500rpm
M5x even with a small turbo would easily exceed 320lb/ft. I am not sure about the trans cooler. Probably some small electric pump similar they use to drain bottom mount turbos.
Ive seen some aftermarket manual and sequential transmissions that have build in oil pumps and provisions for the coolers.
Hi,
I am looking to trade my m52 for the m44 or late m42 (93+). I dont care about the milage as long as it turns.
Motor has approximately 135k miles and came out of the 1998 328i.
AC, PS and alternator are gone. Intake, coils etc are in. Harness is cut. No exhaust manifolds.
Jeff has very solid advice here. Distance between crank and cam centerlines is quite critical in maintaining proper tolerances so your pistons do not eat the valves for lunch, preventing detonation during periods of high load with low(ish) RPM etc etc.
Also, Get the Mahle or JE custom pistons, W do it right the first time and then smack the redline silly with the tach needle for years to come. Wiseco also makes a decent product. I opted for factory Goetze rings when putting my M30B34 back together and she purrs like a kitten.
