will e30 rear struts fit e21?

Looking for rear suspension for the e21. Any idea if its the same as e30?

I've heard it's a close fit. Go on Stanceworks.com there was a thread in the forums about retrofitting E30 struts on an E21

I know its not anywhere near a direct fit. There will definitely need to be some modifications made. Obviously, anything can be done wit hthe right tools, money, time.
