Did not fall off while driving this morning. I did have to spend some time finding a good location that worked well though

Did you find a vent mount that actually works? Every one I've bought has been garbage

This, especially if you hook up the power cord.

You have to wire in the abs emergency outer brake light banks so they go on with the regular brake lights.

Can't wait to see you drive that thing!!

that's a cool bit of programming, but lets not encourage auto manufacturers to venture down that rabbit hole.

can you imagine 100 cars ahead of you in rush hour traffic with fricken strobe lights.

I spent far too long working on the paint/swirl marks last night.

wash>Clay 2.0> Meguiars fine cut compound>Meguiars Ultimate Polish> Meguiars wax

Detailing is not my forte but I enjoy spending 4 hours getting carpal tunnel and cleaning things up to the best of my ability .

Photography is not my forte but I enjoy taking pictures of things with my phone to the best of my ability.

I have logged about 400 miles on the car since taking ownership.

Today I made a home depot run and transported a 2x4 in it and made use of the fold down rear seats.

on my way home from work though it developed a brake squeal.

As it turns out the caliper caught a rock.

                                          61244CF7-0E3F-4EDD-BE1D-1D362B03E6E7.thumb.jpeg.24a704a7bcae492845baec9977f7181e.jpeg

While I was under the car I checked for loose hardware, tightened up a heat shield screw that contributed to some rattling and became acquainted with the underside of the car.

I match-marked the bolt heads with a sharpie for quick checking of loose fasteners in the future.

@andyhundley gave some really good advice about the potential rabbit hole one can go down on with all the preventative fixes that you can do on these cars/anxieties you can generate by browsing BMW forums:
