This will probably fail and get flagged for removal but I thought I'd give it a try anyway.

      Great suggestions!

The level of people's laziness never ceases to amaze me. You're asking hundreds or even thousands of dollars for an item, do you think people will be interested with one crappy picture and "bmw wheels with snow tires, no lowballers" as the sole description? Take a few moments, learn about what you're selling, and post a decent ad... you'll likely get more money and sell it faster too!

I really appreciate the sellers who get it but they are the exception. You're right it's the one picture and no detail that is the rule.

Last set I went to look at the seller had guessed on the offset by looking up the wheel online, but his wheels turned out to be +32 instead of the +40 he said. He also "measured" the tread depth but it turned out to be 4-6/32 instead of 9/32. Add to this folks selling tires with build dates 8-10+ years old with "good tread." Granted snow tires may not get a lot of use but the detail would be nice to know.

          Quoted for future reference.

“After having a few bad experiences with CL sellers, here is some friendly basic advice on details that will improve your sales

          When selling tires:
-list the tire size in your ad ( for example, 205/50/15)
-take a picture of the DOT date code (there will be the letters DOT stamped on the tire followed by a series of letters and numbers, the last four numbers are the week and year the tire was built)
-list the tread depth (either get a cheap gauge or use the penny method)

          When selling wheels:
-list the size (both diameter and width, e.g. 15x7)
-list the wheel offset (e.g., ET 25). If you're not sure of these the information is usually stamped on the back of the wheel on the hub or on one of the spokes. Take a picture and include it in your ad.
-provide information about the car/truck it came off of this will help in determining centerbore. This is NOT the bolt pattern (such as 4x100) but the size of the opening of the wheel hub. Not all vehicles are the same which is why wheels often do not fit.

Providing this information will attract buyers and help sell your wheels and tires faster!”  ~Random Craigslist guy
