After scoping out the route on Street View, I found few more improvements to the route and made yet another revision. Reasons for changes: less prone to getting split up or lost, better continuity, removed a boring section, some roads were just too narrow and underdeveloped, and a decreased overall travel time by staying on the freeway just a tad longer.  This should be the last one unless I find out there is some road construction or something else going on. Check it out in the first post!

I'll be going to preview it one of these days. My only experience with roads anywhere near Madison are out in Mt. Horeb which is utterly amazing from a smoothness and great twisties standpoint, but horrible from a vista/view standpoint. I would like to explore some new areas so I will probably run your route and scope out some other roads near there.

I was considering the same thing. I always thought it would be cool to run a cruise along the Mississippi river. I have heard many amazing things about "The Great River Road" Hwy 35 in Wisconsin and have never been on it.

I'm in La Crosse on Hwy 35, its a beautiful road and somewhat twisty but essentially just a highway. We wouldn't be able to have much twisty or fast fun, but it would be a great casual cruise.

2 months could be a good thing or a bad thing,  more time to get things sorted and get your car going, or more time to achieve some Classic WIBIMMERS compression test numbers.

Oh man this could be cutting it close for me, my car should be sold real soon but I don't know if I'll have another by then. And there isn't much point in showing up with my 115hp Honda

@zojave and I cruised around a few weeks ago and this is what we ended up doing for the day. Plenty of fun switchbacks, a county park with a view and pics and all low car friendly roads.

I'd suggest taking hwy 60 around the lake though because A its a fun road too and B the ferry isn't very low car friendly.
