Do you use green coolant in your BMW?

Do you run green coolant in your BMW or does your engine bleed blue?

I always use the blue. I don't see any reason not to, cost is about the same.

How about if you are far from home and need to top it off? Can you mix green and blue? Or do you have to keep the blue with you?

I'm open to trying blue, but its so nice to be able to get coolant, engine oil, brake fluid, and other fluids from any old auto parts store in a pinch.

Wonder is this is still a big issue or moot due to formula changes (phosphates, silicates etc) and engine changes over the years?

Anyway:

Distilled water and Water Wetter in the track car (coolant not allowed). Drain the radiator, fill with 100% green during winter storage, run engine until cycles through the system. Unheated garage so don't want to pop the freeze plugs. Flush radiator and block in spring and back to water and WW. Before race life ran green.

Used to run green in the daily, since new radiator/heater core/ water pump now run blue (no causal relationship). Keep a small gatorade bottle of blue mix in the trunk for top offs if needed

I would run blue but my cars have always had green when I bought them. The compact will run blue (if it ever runs) and the coupe will get blue if I ever do the radiator (that is if I dont sell it).

I run blue because I have easy access to it but i've put green in cars and didn't think twice about it.  I've also advised others to put green in in an emergency situation.  Any coolant is better than no coolant.

I use water wetter and distilled water. But I also dont have any BMWs that have BMW motors newer than 1984.
