I've got 2 shirts that are Large and I pre-stretch them before I put them on and an XL that fits pretty good.  Both have great fabric though.  Very comfortable!

or buy one size up to accommodate the shrinkage

Got that in a heavy t (M)& a hoodie (XL) I just hope they fit right.
