Thanks man!
I just have the cover set there right now, but will be adding some mounting to the blower motor cover to be able to secure it. -
Looking good!
-
I keep looking at those pictures and it bothers me every time that the one clamp is silver, I replaced it with a black one. Have no fear.
Oil cooler is fully plumbed, and I started adding oil. I am at about 7 quarts with no cranking and I am just hitting the minimum oil level on the dipstick. Nifty!
Exhaust is on, wiring is pretty much done, intercooler and whatnot are in place.
Add fluids, check for leaks, start it?
I always feel like I am missing stuff and that it should take longer.... not that I usually miss things. Just feels weird having a working car
-
When you gonna attempt to start it? I wanna be there.
-
Got some coolant in it, added a fender and some hood support pieces.
Gave her a bit of a crank to start moving some oil, everything sounded in check. May shoot for a fire up this weekend.
-
Did some cranking, but didn't get a spark. Will be digging into this issue tomorrow!
-
Wow, this is really damn nice. Keep it up!
-
Diagnosed a bunch of stuff for the spark, will hopefully be testing my fix tomorrow! It appears that suddenly all of my coil drivers took a crap and don't work. Got a new one to try!
I ordered a horn button awhile ago that was said to be dimension A, which I figured would be the mounting hole diameter. Well it turned out that it was actually the overall diameter. So a bit ago I designed an adapter and printed it!

Works pretty well, looks pretty decent.
I thought I had more pictures to post. But I don't....
Moving shops soon? Bigger shop, smaller bathroom, pretty sweet. Will post pics of that too! -

Make up your damn mind, son!
Glad you're making progress.

Mind is 99% made up, just waiting on confirmation from other parties involved.
Tonight will be spark test night, I shall update with the results of that. -

Are you using the drivers that came out of the stock ecu?
-
No
-
No
IF YOU need some quality drivers, steal some out of an old m50 ecu. They work great. If you need to know how to wire it, head over to BF.C and checkout dburts ms3 writeup

She breathed on her own yesterday. Feels good bruh.
It turns out I didn't actually have 12v at the coils... don't know how I thought I did.
Now to get the shop rearranged so I can get the car out, then do some driving. -

Oh boy do I miss this noise.
Got it started, but it was running like crap. After much headache and many days spent trying to figure out what was going on. Today we noticed something coming out of the exhaust, that seemed to be a bit "clothy" it all came rushing back
I had test fit the manifold on the motor and figured I would take it off later, well a few weeks went by and I realized that I had no reason to take it off, so I bolted it down. I completely forgot about the fact that I had paper towel stuffed in all of the intake ports to keep things from getting in them. She was chewing up the paper towel and spitting it out. Here is what it looked like when we opened it up.

No wonder it ran like crap. Feel a bit like an idiot, but oh well!Edit: you can see a piece fly out of the exhaust in the video lol

I also got my first chip in my f*cking engine bay.
Had an extension drop off my 1/4" ratchet. Wasn't thrilled about that. -

Don't feel too bad. You're not the only one this happened to, lol.
-
Ha! You're not the first person to say that either!
Took it up and down the road a bit yesterday when I had to move the shop around. I had a coolant leak at the heater core hose, and i forgot to screw the fuse box cover back down, so that went flying lol.
She scoots, real good. I have missed driving an e30!
