Ice Rally this season
-
The first half of the week looks fine, second half, not so much. I'm still hopeful though. Weathermen are hardly ever right anyway, so it's too early to tell. I'd go even if it's a big slush-fest. Ben took all his cars apart though...

I made it very specific to the machine shop that my m20 head is to be done by friday or sooner, all with the intention of throwing it back together friday night and or saturday to make it on the ice

If we are good to go, I'll be leaving Milwaukee about 6:45 if anyone else is coming from the city and wants to caravan
EDIT: maybe saying 'car pool' when talking about driving on the ice is a bad idea.

yes

mike, it was nice to meet you as well. sorry to hear about the kid issue, bummer!
so much fun to be had out there. also a little learning about driving style/weight shifting on the ice.
results of the event were posted. nice time on the first heat mike, you hauled ass with that car full of people.

video is currently uploading but should be live soon.
disclaimer: this was only my 2nd ever lap on ice. i certainly looked alot more like ken block by lap 8, drifting all the corners with flair and jumping over construction site obstacles.
also, sorry for the shaking, over exposed video. my suction cup mount has not arrived yet and i forgot to set the metering on the go pro. and i did not manage my battery very well so i didnt get any of the good runs before it died. basically, an overall cinematic fail.

This looks to me like it would be more fun than autocross. Let me know when you plan on going next, I would like to try it out
full throttle almost no braking, sideways action, very low risk of damaging the car - you feel like a hero. if the weather holds I will be back up there Sunday.

9 to 4. You could leave after the first heat if you had to go early. You get a few practice laps in the morning, then about 4 laps per heat so you'd still get about 7 laps for half the day and you'd be done by maybe 1-2
