How can I use my steering wheel controls for music apps [E90]

What kind of phone do you have? Could do voice commands & completely eliminate the hands from the equation

Phone is Nexus 6P.
No iDrive, just the normal sound system with bluetooth but I can't get it to play music through that. To be fair, I haven't messed with that part of it too much, I'll look into that.
Not sure if all of you meant to post that twice, but yes I have a CD changer lol

That's what I was afraid of. I guess theoretically I could pick up a dedicated MP3 player and load that thing up with music to leave in the car, I feel like that would work at least.

Probably your best bet, iPod integration is built in. Older iPods are fetching good $$ these days though because of their storage capacities.
