I currently have 22 diecast models on my desk at work... they're all BMW and Porsche with my favorite being a 1/32 2009 BMW M3 GT2.  I've got a few more at home and it's a mixed bag.  I've got a few Maisto and those are pretty cool.  One is the Alpina Z8.  My wife just rolls her eyes now when I buy a new one.

2011 e90 M3 - DCT, Borla exhaust, BMW Performance Black Grille, ECS Painted Corners, Ziza Angel Eyes

07 335i Stella - sport package, BMS DCI, zhp knob, TMS cf parking brake lever, VRSF downpipes, MHD tune, H&R race springs, other stuff *SOLD*

97 328i Lola - sport package, m50 intake manifold, m50 manifold.com install kit, custom CAI, K&N filter, Borla exhaust, FK silverline coilovers, 25.5mm front sway bar, Powerflex front sway bushings, Turner Radiator, fan delete *sold*

I am a little impulsive when it comes to buying car/gun parts and this thread made me realize that I badly want this UT 1:18 scale M3 for my desk at work. It has everything (besides the spoiler) down to my same wheels. Unfortunately it appears UT stopped production in the 90's and I'm not about to sell an arm and leg to buy something that's a rare collector item. AutoArt was mentioned but from what I saw on their website they don't even sell any e36 models. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

$130 is steep but I actually considered it until I saw it costs $68 to ship. You can get a nice M3 for $8,000 so I guess its a deal to pay 1/40th the cost for a car that's 1/18th in size. In theory you are saving $244.44.  Or is that not how this whole thing works?

No M3, or an e30 coupe model which I'd like to find, but this FS post has been on CL for a while:

i have zero bmw model cars, but i'm a huge fanboy and have been eyeballing a few models lately.

my favorite is the 1/18 Minichamps e30 m3 DTM in plain white:

I found a lot of cool models while secret santa shopping on ebay and ebay.de too

well then go for the value based on your theory and buy a model Bugatti Veyron, at $200 for 1/18 scale, you'd be saving $94,244.

Wife just confirmed my son swiped it from someone else's toy bin last night.

Glad he is turning the right direction instead of playing with his shuttle bus and civic hatchback, despite the pilfering that occurred.

I got this alignement rack, balancer and tire machine as a gift from Hunter Engineering.  It's 1/18th scale and I need a 1/16th scale car to put on it.  Currently I have my e92 M3 1/24 scale on it.20170306125231.jpg
