N54 Procede v5... thoughts?

glad you at least got it functioning. Time for FBO status!
I'll get there! I'm giving myself the next 18 months to accomplish that. It sounds like a lengthy amount of time but I figure with my new position at work recently consuming a lot of my time and the baby coming at the end of May, my time and my bank account will be stretched until I can adjust.

Well, someone from PROcede finally emailed me back last night. They are now operating under OFT instead of PROcede but good news is they will unlock any PROcede units for FREE!
So I now have 2 unlock files in my possession if anyone decides to go that route or you know someone who needs it.

yea i feel your pain man. The forum poll favored coilovers instead of a turbo upgrade for my car, which I think I'm in agreement with, but I just dropped 1500 on a fucking puppy. I'm thinking coils may have to wait until 2016.
Luckily you can get to FBO for relatively cheap. My first go around with the N54 I spent more money than I should have - bought the full Cobb kit with intercooler, and dropped 900 on lightly used akrapovic downpipes (they retail for 1600).
I've since learned to become a huge fan of VRSF and saved a ton of money for my N55. I've got both their downpipe and IC. Since you already have the procede, you should be able to get used BMS DCI for like 60 bucks, VRSF downpipes / 7" intercooler for 800, then just throw on an exhaust of your choice.

VRSF is the spot. Great fit and finish and sweet price.

$1500 on a puppy!?!? I paid less than that for both of my dogs combined!!!
VRSF has been on my radar and I think that's what I will end up going with for the IC and downpipes unless I find a great deal on something else used. The car came with the BMS DCI so that is one less thing I need to worry about.
As far as an exhaust goes, I was thinking about doing the PE mod on my mufflers and calling it a day. I bought a welder and got a 33 gallon compressor for christmas so I am all set up for cutting and welding in my garage.

then I would say you have 0 excuse to not be Stage 2 by the time roads are clear for spring. Because basically you're telling me you only need to frontload 1000 bucks or less and you're done.
Get on it. Your life will never be the same !!
purebred bernese mountain dog from a reputable breeder.....yeah, not cheap lol

I finally got everything working and holy shit! It pulls forever!

Ha! I've had that virus for a looooong time!

How were the wiring repairs?Glad to hear you got it going though. I will be looking for you in a ditch along I43 today
It was pretty simple. Just the one injector and it wasn't chewed through the copper so easy enough.
And you might find me in a ditch off of i90 or the belt line near Madison but not i43! My escape just became my main mode of transport unless my wife needs to use it.

all n54 owners need ride in my 666 machine...i have spoken.

I am interested to see the differences between the Procede and the JB4. I installed a JB4 on mine last spring and as JC43089 will tell you, it made a HUGE difference. Actually so much of a difference i'm going to start putting it under the knife this summer and see what she'll really do. The stock intercoolers suck beyond belief (I was logging 120+ IATs on 40-120 highway pulls at 70 deg) last fall, also planning the VRSF 7" upgrade.
Good to see more N54 guys on here!

The last logs I did my iat was at 95ish f for 4th gear pulls from 3k rpm to 6500rpm. I did 4 pulls on Thursday and it was about 55 out when I did it. An ic will most likely be my next buy for the car.

Since this thread is discussing PROcede, I have a few questions. Hope you guys don't mind.
I have the PROcede V5 Rev 3 in the 335i coupe that I just bought about a month ago.
1. I've been trying to contact Vishnu Performance. Wrote them an email, wrote them email using their "contact us" function on their website, called the number listed on the website but no replies to emails and no answer on the phone. Appreciate if you could advise me on how to contact them (via email preferred).
2. What RON rated fuel are you running on your car with the PROcede V5? Here in Malaysia, we have 3 different RON fuels available ie RON95, RON97 & RON 100. I know that for the 335i, out of the factory, RON95 can be used. So I'm thinking that RON95 can be used on Map 1 of the PROcede too. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance.

In the US in lower elevations, our fuel choices at any random fuel station would be
91.1 RON (87 AKI)
93.2 RON (89 AKI)
97.4 RON (93 AKI)
At higher elevations you get
89.7 RON (85 AKI)
91.1 RON (87 AKI)
95.3 RON (91 AKI)
I would agree that you could PROBABLY run 95 RON fuel on Map 1. But you will need to check the data logs and see if any ignition timing is being pulled when you are running 95. If it ever pulls any timing at all (negative value on the Timing Correction data field), that indicates that there was detonation detected.
Your hottest months in KL are similar temperature and humidity to our hottest months in Wisconsin.
I would probably run 97 RON minimum for peace of mind. Try some 95 out, log some data from some full boost accelerations and see if 95 works for you.

Thank you.
Some of the problems I'm facing :
1. I really do not know how to do all that data logging...this really is my virgin experience with a piggyback chip or an ecu tune.
2. I do not hv any of the cables that's supposed to come with the PROcede chip. The guy that I bought the car from doesn't have them. ..
Given the above, I'd really like to get clarification from Vishnu Performance. ..but they are not replying to me.
I'm running RON97 now to be safe. But I have to travel within the peninsula of Malaysia. And RON97 may not be available everywhere I go. RON95 is the minimum all gas stations have to supply.
