Frenched lights

How exactly do you do this? I was thinking about buying the yellow glass lights.

On my old E36 I used a yellow glass stain spray to french the fogs:

I believe I got it at Michaels or something.
I scuffed up the glass a bit and gave it a few light coats till I got the yellow I wanted. Don't go too heavy or they will start to look orange. Here is what they looked like a few months after I did the yellow:

I didn't touch them for over a year and they got pretty chipped up but it isn't hard to use paint stripper to remove it and then re-apply the yellow.
...dammit now I miss my old car...
