Glad I'm getting into this thing. There is new engineering in here but it all is similar to an e30. Love that.

I'll pull the trans out with the motor. The gear selector seal has a little leak.

I keep telling my wife that she couldn't possibly look any better but driving a BMW definitely wouldn't hurt and girls who drive BMW's get nicer things.  She's almost drank the Kool-aid except her sights are set on an X5, a Cayenne or a Volvo XC90.

Ditto. The interiors are great on the new X5's too but $$$. Get her a used X5 35d, those are tanks.

Got the motor loose and almost out. This getting dark at 5:30 isn't helping anything.

Need a second set of hands if anyone is bored the next couple of days.

Forgot I had this caliper from the ammo reloading stage I had before I got my license.

                                        10514da20eefe0e1887dc44657ddcc32.jpg

I have the 49mm bearings coming tomorrow.

-Have a lot of clean up to do on the outside. Oil and corrosion from winter motoring.

-Swap all the new sensors over to the new motor.

                                        -Valve cover gasket and plugs.

-Move all coils over to the new motor.

-Clean vacuum lines out with brake cleaner.

Doing the rod bearings and other odds and ends while the motor is on the engine stand.

This is one of the better ones.  The rod side bearings were in need of replacing.  Glad I'm doing this now.

Zipties to keep the rods from banging into the journals.
