    Admittedly, I made a roll eyes at the words "trap nation". Did a listen and it weren't so bad. Good example of a vocal makes better of a song despite it's trappings (har har).

    I feel the same way about "trap" and its use. It that case its just someone reposting it on their Soundcloud page and its not the actual artists name.

      Our UPS driver at work likes to do music trivia with our materials team. On tuesday he played "it's my life" by talk talk on his phone and gave them a multiple choice to guess who it was by. Our materials team isn't so musically inclined, so no one got it right. The he asked "What 90's band covered this song". Somehow, I managed to pull this one out of my ass. Even though I've heard both versions, I don't think I've ever realized that the No Doubt version was a cover...

      <br>

      Unrelated? I've recently been digging into some early punk/goth stuff.  Like the dance/ska tunes shown above, it's often dominated melodically by the bass line as opposed to the guitar parts...

        I've listened to 774 hours of music so far this year. Didn't think that was a lot originally, but it's over a month of listening to music.

          I just looked at this too. 1,018 hours, or a little over 42 full days. Damn. Guess I’m getting my money’s worth on Apple Music.

            I almost got kicked out of the car at lunch today for making fun of Guns 'n Roses.

            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

            Facts nearly lost to history:

            Two of Jefferson Airplane's biggest hits, "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love" were actually songs that Grace Slick "carried with her" (aka lifted) from her previous band The Great Society.

              axel rose's distinct voice singing a rock ballad tune would be pretty comical to someone who didnt grow up hearing the songs regularly.

                Massive nostalgia wave today, college freshman year.

                Probably in the minority on WIBOOMERS for having enjoyed dubstep, but this was a trip.

                                        I've gotten into friend of the TST podcast Christian James Hand's "The Session on Air" during my commute lately. I'm musically illiterate but its fascinating hearing the history of popular songs and each track individually. So many great songs but the Lamborghini Miura exhaust note from Panama is always a treat.

                                          Switched from pandora to spotify. Much better, but I'm sure the rest of the world already knows that. I don't usually have music on unless I'm actively listening to it, but lately I've been letting spotify play in the background and it's been okay. Mostly sticking to jazz or things that are vaguely jazz-like.
