the water under the circle track is less than 3 feet deep that combined with more than a foot of ice makes the chances loosing a car extremely doubtful. like earl said the last time we went up there we opened up some holes in late spring and the guys that work the track up there had no issues cleaning up the track with there #8000 plow trucks

I've only broken through the ice a couple times on a four wheeler.

It's not bad and was in shallow water.

It sure does make you clinch though.

Party people.  Im putting out an APB for cones.  I figure we should use the open oval for setting up an autoX to see who is a god amongst men.  Anyone have fifty or so orange cones?

Not the same opportunity for ice cone dodging but turns out that the WI Audi Club is running ice driving schools with the WAG folks same location on Feb 1 and Feb 15. At least it's a chance to get out on the ice.

I have 10. I don't think I'll be able to make it though. If someone wants to pick them up I am in Bay View.

It looks like we're gonna have a good amount of track time for everyone!  Ice is looking thick as ever and it's almost here.  I have to get my ass to my shop and get my Bimmer running tip top or its going to be a cold and boring day for me.

Did the Audi Club ice school up at Hutisford yesterday. You'll have a great time. The course has many drifting opportunities. Snow tires will be a big help. Mostly awd and fwd folks yesterday and only a few rwd.

We will not be using the WAG course, as stated previously, because they decided that we could not run a more free form event.  They also demanded that we paid them to staff the event.  While the road course would be more desirable for our purposes, we just couldn't seem to come to an understanding.

We are using Sinnissippi Ice Racing's oval on the other side of the lake.  They are allowing us to run the event the way we see fit, and aren't asking for any ridiculous amount of money, just a one time fee of $100.  This is what the $5 driver fee goes toward.  Our members wanted a more open event, because some of them have never driven on ice.  This gives our members a nice opportunity to have some fun, do some drifting, and get some cool photos of their cars going sideways and kicking up some snow.

This is less than a week away!  Can't wait to see you all out on the oval!

If you guys are on your own make sure you have someone there with a 4wd pickup and tow straps. Folks will rage drift off course into the snow banks and beyond. Most of the time you can get together and push them out but some times you need the truck.
