    Anyone else here into RC cars? 1/10, 1/8th, 1/5, 1/16, 1/32 etc?

    I've owned a plethora of 1/10th nitro's.

3 Traxxas nitro sports, upgraded all to OS .18 motors, other odds and ends

    1000749.jpg

1 1/10 TEAM ASSOCIATED TC4 drift car. Was awesome!

    1000801.jpg

1 1/8th scale GS Racing 4wd nitro buggy, thing was awesome!

    1 unlimited class 1/10 crawler

    1000696.jpg

1 1/36 Team Losi Micro-B w/ Lipo upgrade; this thing ripped, and was awesome for in the house fun!

    1000714.jpg

These were all sold to fund other projects, mainly my watercooled gaming computer.

But last week I got back into RC's. And I always wanted a 1/10th scale short course truck, so I said screw it jumped in head first. Got a good setup from my local Hobby Town USA. And am excited to start my RC Racing career all over again

1/10 scale Traxxas Slash VXL 4x4. has a nice Brushless motor, and a decent NimH battery. Soon to be changed out for a 2s LiPo battery, for longer run times, and more power.

After the first real bash run I ended up breaking a front control arm, come to find out after a bit of searching around on the internet, that it's a very common thing to break early in the trucks life, their really brittle, especially in -15 degree weather =\

No worries, just means I get to buy RC car upgrades!

So I decided I'd just go get some RPM control arms, found out the front an rear control arms are the same! So I bought a set of 4 and haven't looked back since!

    Future plans are;

new wheels/tires (for indoor short course)

    shocks

    2s lipo battery

    motor mount

    different body.

Keeping this one relatively stockish, just so I can run in my division for racing. :)

Back in 1997-2001 I was into them.

          I had a Traxxas Sledgehammer

          4378870118large.jpg

          Nitro Stampede

          nstampede.jpg

          some electric rustlers

          an associated b2

          and a duratrax evader st.

this is all before lipo and brushless crap for cars, i think brushless was an airplane only thing back then.

i nearly bought an e-revo a while back but that would take away from my time trolling wibimms

Sledgehammer. Man.. That is old, aswell as the Nitro stampede!

A high school buddy an me found an old old (mid eighty's?) 2wd Electric buggy, with a servo that contacts eletrodes to control the electric motor, too old for a newer style Electronic Speed Controller, haha!

Yeah the sledgehammer had the old XL1 which could only handle a 27 turn motor I believe.

The electric stampede I had came with a mechanical speed controller. It lost radio signal with the servo stuck at full throttle and I watched the thing go full speed into a curb.  R.I.P.

I've had this happen as well, but it was a servo glitch =\
