Got it up in the air and started taking the rear apart. Original axle nut had some crazy locking plate I didn't understand... So after much help from Earl... I didn't listen and just reefed on the nuts with an impact till they bent the washer thingies.

All things can be fixed with an impact.

Didn't get a ton done tonight, but it's in the air and in process so hoping to bang this out over the next couple nights. Where I left it:

The Pelican Parts tech DIY's I thought were pretty darn good, worth a read before starting for sure. Just digging in but will definitely takes notes for us John!

The rear axle nut lock plate is super simple lol.
Wheel bearing time?
Also, in comment to your low's. Get some air in that bad boy.

I decided last weekend I will be going with air next winter, roads are just too crappy to be low static.

Front left wheel bearing was TTOOOAAASSSTTTTT.... Sounds like someone replaced the bearings with gravel.

Those Axle nut plates confused me too, don't feel alone.

Not enjoying doing these wheel bearings one bit...

Stuck now on the rears and not sure how to keep going. Rear axles are out, brakes are all apart... And the DIY says to remove the bearing circlip... Which I can't seem to locate.

From the outside of the car looking in: there's just the hub with open center splines... When looking from the rear I just see the back of the bearing and hub - no big ass circlip. Do I have to pull the hub off and the bearing circlip is being that?!?

Yes. Press the hub out and you will see the large snap ring. It is sort of a pain to remove. Hopefully you ordered new ones because the old ones will get destroyed removing them.

Gotta love DIY instructions online... Goes from press the axle out - right to remove the circlip...

Finally feeling well enough to get back out into the garage!!!

Exhaust is off, rear is all apart except the snap rings/bearings and 1 hub... Looks all downhill from here!!!

All new shift linkage bushings arrived this week as well, so gonna do a quick and dirty shifter rebuild while the driveshaft is out.

I was gonna use my whack-a-mole hammer... Then likely was gonna buy a slide hammer.

Rear wheel bearing to this day was still my least favorite e30 job. I don't remember what trick I found to make it way easier....

An air hammer is literally the only thing that would budge mine.

Hit up Harbor Freight tonight - picked up their biggest pair of snap ring pliers which look like they'll be perfect for the rear wheel bearings! Also a multi pack of the bitch clip style "hooks" which will hopefully help get the clip off easily.
