Well went back to the shop today. Talked with the owner/manager. He said that I can take it to a body shop of my choice and he will pay for it. I stayed super calm, he stayed super calm. We both shook hands.
Immediately after I drove to an auto body place (he ended up recommending one to me) and they are working up a quote for me as I type this.
Hooray for fixing things

That's how it's done. Hope everything works out without a hitch this time around

Glad to hear that they are making it right. How does one choose which shade of red you'd like to match?
This is seriously the only thing that worries me lol
They will probably spray them fresh brilliantrot or just match the color they currently are and respray it

I also called safe lite because my windshield is horribly pitted and in the sun I am literally blind
Is $208 installed a bad price for non oem glass?
-
Nice to hear that the shop manager is willing to make things right.
Take it to the most expensive repair shop you know. Have them quote both fenders. Then get a check from Mr. Store Manager. Go to a more affordable place and have them respray the whole car. You should be able to get away with it for just a little money out of your own pocket.

Glad to hear this worked out! Going into the situation with a cool head is always the easiest way to handle it. I can tell you, I am more inclined to work with someone when they are calm and civil than if they are flying off the handle. It's natural for people to become defensive when they are approached with aggression. Accidents happen, that's why insurance companies exist.

Drove the car to west bend and back this weekend to visit some friends. Car did awesome there and back. Cruises quite nicely @80ish and more if needed. Since I got it back on all four tires I've probably put 700-800 miles on it in less that a week. It's so much better to drive. I am still on the hunt for 16x8s. So if you guys have suggestions that aren't 900lbs a corner I'm all ears.
I raised the front of the car up a tad for the trip down so I didn't smash anything. It's settled now and I'm actually happy with how it looks.

Random pics of where the skidplate was and now is and the engine bay because why not.
If you have a swapped e30 and don't run a skidplate have fun convincing your bros how cool it is to break oil pans

Check with your insurance - cracked windshields are $100 to replace with my insurance.

So let Brooke borrow the car so she could take it to another autobody shop to get an estimate. She calls me from the place saying my car isn't running right. (Awesome) leave work early. Bomb over there on motorcycle. Check everything. Finally start up car. It's a lopey ass idle with some large hissing noises. Unplugged MAF and TPS while running (CEL then came on)
Pushed on the ICV hoses and hissing got louder. Limp it home. Take off ICV and hoses to find these "OEM" replacement hoses after 3500 miles in this condition

Auto X this Sunday. Great timing, amirite?
-
What brand hoses?
Shitty ones
I ordered them when I was originally doing the engine swap.
Probably shitty URO ones, only parts that weren't oem and they lasted not at all.

Hoses will be here tomorrow morning.
Sunday Auto X here I come

Auto Cross today was awesome.
Was in the SSM class & took 4th!
My car also took 1st as well!!! (in SSM)
My buddy Evan and I shared the car. He has been karting ever since he could walk and is known locally for running faster lap times than you in your car lol. (this was the first time he had driven the car). I was running 2A, he was running 2B. I was .542 seconds slower than him. For my second auto cross I am super happy with my runs today.
Car feels literally a million times better, Evan commented that its setup pretty well & that it could easily pick up another 1 to 1.5 seconds on some decent rubber. I'm currently on Nitto Neogens that came on the car when I bought it 2.5 years ago haha. They were begging for mercy today.
In the pic attached, Evan ran my car and took 1st. His younger brother ran Brooke's (my gf) miata (coilovers and hankook ventus RS3s) and took second (they have both been karting for forever and are awesome drivers). 3rd place is a turbo miata setup for autox (sways/suspension/RS3s/etc) and 4th is my fastest. Brooke ended up taking 8th but got faster everytime she made a pass.
Overall I'm super happy with the car, if anything was going to break it definitely would have today. Because we were running 2A and 2B, the car got hotlapped consistently & never really seemed to have an issue.
Next step is to get some better rubber (possibly different wheels) & some ducting to help cool the front rotors.
I will be uploading videos hopefully soon

I can't imagine owning an e30 and not enjoying it like this. They are so much fun in these types of settings
