He sent me some more pics and it looks super clean. Two spots on the front bumper where he must have scraped a curb or something, but the rest looks really nice, including the interior.

I've looked at about 5 cars in the past 6 days and all have had rust/misc issues, so hopefully this one pans out!

It was higher at one point? He's taking less than his asking price, even so I'm borrowing money to buy it until I finally get my first paycheck from this company

Looks like a pretty good deal for that M3. I'm pretty much looking for something clean that needs either nothing or very minor work. 

The 323i may be underpowered but they're easy enough to get up to 325i speed.

And the more I read, the cooler I think a 5.0 swap would be. Perhaps that would be a nice future project..

It has e36 m3 front and rear bumpers on it, a trumpet through the headlight hole, and I also really dislike the wheels.
