A lot of the trailer hitches i've installed on strange vehicles (Smart 4two, Mini Cooper's, Toyota Yariseses, etc.) are for bike racks.  It makes sense if you don't want to deal with putting a roof rack on.

Truth. I put a hitch receiver on my E90.
I've done roof racks before for bikes, but they are subject to road debris, mileage takes a massive slash, and loading bikes onto a roof isn't all that convenient.

I hate you for saying that. now im scowering the internet to figure out what they are from. They are not from a Cressida. I assume they are from something from the Canadian market.

Perfect. I knew it was a toyota from close to then. I also knew it wasn't a cressida but had to be close because of how similar they are.

You'd think they would've used e28 or early model e30 taillights or something given that it was a BMW shop that built it, they're a similar shape too.

It seems like something you would want to have as a just in case but then again you would need to remove your spare tire in order to house it.  With very poor planning you can still get away with never run out of gas due to the relative frequency you are near a gas station.  With excellent planning you can still randomly get a flat tire.  It's awesomely overthought and useless and I want it.
