Bit of an oddball find.

I really dig the color combo. Whole car looks a little rough around the edges though.

I've got irrational desire to someday own a long wheelbase 7 series. The fact that there's a couple pretty decent ones on CL right now isn't helping.

Decent deal on an '02. No real interior, but it'd be cool for bombing around on backroads in.

Nothing irrational about wanting a 7er. Fantastic cars. I had an e32 way back when. That thing hauled ass and you never even knew it, so smooth. Sold it due to the transmission being on its way to it's death bed. They are dirt cheap, but expensive to fix and most people don't maintain them very well. Most of them at one time or another were owned by a rapper wanna be or something of the sorts.
I'll own one again done the road.

Im with you on the long wheelbase 7 series. It would have to have an armored version though
Agreed, an armored e38 750il on mpars would be such a sweet car.

Must be a common lust.
I've always wanted a black 740iL so I could bag it and roll around like a mobster.

Nice finds! That new class 2000 is awesome. Funny that the ad says "will run"

That daytona E36 M3 is the best color combo.
The 7'er seems kind of high priced but its certainly nice. Seeing them for $2k in similar condition is very tempting.

This one has coilovers already, but the rice also reflects that tooooo much.

Same, I'd love a low e38 M sport! It might be the only BMW I'd prefer in black.

Had it since May 2016, bought it with the driver's door panel removed, has the panel but hasn't had the time to install it = less a "time" issue and more a driver's window regulator and/or motor issue?

Who the heck puts this kind of money into a car before putting it in your name?

anyone need e30 parts

Hmm, re the 318is the car's title from NY was "lost". Wonder did seller lose it or never had it?
The e30 parts seller is someone who bought a half semi-load of parts plus a number of cars from an estate sale a year ago, two years ago? I emailed back a forth with him a bit but never went down to actually look at what he's got. Anyone looked at the stash?

The likely scenario is that he bought the car as a project, didnt transfer title because it wasnt going to be on the road while it was being "restored". He did whatever he had to do, and when he went to transfer the title is wasnt where he left it.
To buy a car without a title, and then put that kind of money into it (with the exception of a track car) would be a pretty big lapse in judgement. That being said, I've seen people do dumber things.

Interesting, I always wondered what the deal was with that ad. I might shoot him a message about a diff.

i also have the dream of owning an e32 someday. long wheel base is pointless, but yeah they are great looking cars.
-
Super confusing ad. Only has 4 shots of the car from the same angle in different environments with no interior or engine bay shots AND the title is missing? He should know that you can apply for a bonded title and have a new title in 6 months if its done correctly. Sounds very Chicago fishy......

Jeez, the wheels and kit on the e36 make it almost worth it in their own. Pretty good deal for someone.

That thing has been for sale for ever. I think he started at like 9k.
Who the hell swaps a manual trans to auto.

Pretty sure it was always auto, and he "has" a manual trans to go with it. I unfortunately saw this car in person after the divebomb rally this year. On our way home we stopped for gas and he must have saw us in Bryans M3. Dude turned around and raced into the gas station reving the thing. As I chuckled under my breather while he "talked BMWs" I could see that it was a very nice 30 footer and this guys wet dream. It may not be for everyone, but he thought it was the cats ass. I dont think he will ever get more than $2500 for it.
I also dont mind the Dakar, and its probably the nicest thing about the car. The rest is just meh.
