Also have fun finding a slick top. They're very few and far between. You're basically looking for a unicorn right now haha

I know, but I've had too many cars now that I bought because they seemed like a good idea, or a good value... This time I'm getting something that I actually want.

Trans and interior can be swapped, so it's the sunroof that's the biggest problem... although swapping interiors doesn't really sound like a fun weekend to me either...

Interior swaps are a piece of cake lol. I can even help you do a dash as they're easy in compacts as well.

              "wife's track car"

did that actually work as an excuse so his wife would let him get another car for himself?

Found a thread for the car here:

                  http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28158

It was already swapped when he bought it in 2009. Looks like he's been daily driving it since then. Did the math and according to his estimate it looks like there's been 70k miles put on the drivetrain since it was swapped. Should be sorted pretty well by now I'd think...

If you find a motorless car the swap can be done in a weekend on an obd1 car if you find something like that=] I know of a slick top shell that is cheap but it isnt rust free

That's actually a pretty good price considering the proper 6 speed trans is included.

As the old saying goes, there's an ass for every seat. It'd be cool to see this find it's way into an e30. I'm sure you know what euro spec e36's sell for here in the states. Anything decent is well over $20k.

I have.  Ebay.uk has quite a few for less than $10k which is around the same price as nice e36's are selling right now over here.  Evo models are over $10k.

What a perfect combo BUT, for that price I would expect a nicer drivers seat, a clean engine bay, and better photos in the ad
