Bimmerworld might have some, I have seen them for as high as 8k, expect to pay no less than 4k. I got mine for 5 back in 2006

This is stupid. You're willing to apy $4K+ for a gained what? 50hp? Stupid. simple bolt on's and upping the compression ratio would get you more HP and cheaper then that.

I say turbo kit. Or if you really want NA power, go with ls1 swap. Really well documented into e36 chassis.

You do get more than that with a euro S50. It has ITB's so it responds completely different. But I agree that you will be paying way to much. Plus I know you would need someone to install it for you. This could easily become a $10,000 plus ordeal in your case.

Yeah, rowley has a point. If you want reliable daily-able power. LS1/LS2 swap it. That's 400RWHP that you could rely on forever. And wouldn't cost nearly as much.

What would an ls1 swap cost? I have been thinking about buying a decent turbo set-up and a few other things for my car but I am a Chevy guy at heart so an ls1 swap would be the way I would want to go if its no more then 5k and this wouldn't be until next winter until I start gathering parts mounts motor ect.

Depends on where you go. I go through a guy who works at a place that collects totalled Corvettes, LSX camaros, vipers, etc. So the price isn't Horrible. It's a used LSX motor, but like mentioned they're cheap.

Hmmmmmm I'm going to have to do a lot of thinking on this one and research! I just want to do something besides forced induction because I'm sick of everyone around here (Waupun, fdl, beaver dam) thinking the only way a car can be fast is with a turbo or supercharger

But then again an ls1 swap with a rear mounted turbo doesn't sound bad at all!

I would imagine you would spend at least $3000 to have it put in.

Talk to Kaliboy, he is a member on here but lives in California. He has an LSx E36 and should be able to get your message if you send him a PM.

                                  Kaliboy did the swap himself.

$3000 just in labor sounds right. You need the driveshaft and many other components besides an LSx as well.

A turbo kit would save you a bunch of headaches, I regret getting my euro engine, I could've used that money for a kit from TT, AA, ICS or CES.
