In the aftermath of yesterday’s  Packer loss, traffic on 172 heading toward the Southbound Milwaukee exit for I-43.

A guy in his mid-30s pulled up next to my 335i at the grocery store in this M5 with his wife and toddler. I told him it was a beautiful example of an E34. He said "thanks" and that he had owned it for 12 years now. Stunning in person.

Haha, I didn't say the chassis code in person... thank goodness. I don't know pre-2000 BMWs very well.

e39, 2004? Body and paint in perfect condition. Not sure the color name, but nice blue. Spotted in Green Bay.

It would be a early model E39 (97-2000), always liked that color too.

First reminded me of a penguin, and then nope, it's just plain ugly. Uglier than any penguin, so sorry if I offended any penguins reading this post...

Biarritz Blue Mettalic, if I remember correctly.  Same color as my '99 540i was.  Pic of mine below.  I think that's a match??!?

That actually looks like a properly non-rusted-to-hell E39. For me it's gotta be an M5, though. Someday.

Yup.  I've had several opportunities to run around in an E39 M5.  That car is THE wolf in sheeps' clothing, even 15 years later.  I modded my 540 to the gills, and spent a fortune thinking I'd get close.  In hind sight, I should've just bought a.......  Well, you know.
