E-fan control? Man I have been swamping myself if ms3x the past two days and I have not read anything about that...

I suppose the m20 would be silly to apply ms3 to, and ms3x is what my 24v is getting!

Heres a nice chart to break down the differences

Oh, just purposing a medium current output as a fan.

I knew that much lol, just didn't think of running a fan on the output.

Im imagining the output triggering a relay which switches the fan from off/low/high depending on coolant temp. I know that someone on r3v was using the inputs and outputs to create a traction control system.

Fan triggering would be nice, and completely controllable!

Traction control ;) I have been thinking of how to do that for a while now.

In theory you could just take the rear wheel speed(Abs) sensor and the front wheel speed(Abs) sensor and make a table of their inputs and when they get beyond a threshold or percentage difference have it cut fuel or spark or what have you.

                Once again, in theory ;)

Yeah, I was thinking something pretty much along those lines. Write a piece of C code with some conditional statements involving wheel speeds: if ((RR-RF)/RR)< x then retard timing __ degrees or if ((LR-LF)/LR)< x then retard timing__degrees and experiment with what value x needs to be so that you arent hitting TCS while cornering, and include another conditional so that if VSS<5 mph x would be a different number so the TCS wouldnt kick in as soon. It would also be possible to tap into the ABS control unit and have the ABS brake that 1 wheel rather than pulling timing.

I like the idea of the timing retard given a low difference of speed.

Threshold idea came from the fact that cornering would cause wheel speeds to change around.

Good thought on the vss wiring for high speeds, smaller reactions would be perfect.

Tapping into the Abs would take some knowledge... But be awesome!

Edit: you could actually write a full body traction control then, even include cornering stability.

Anyone here have a dirt bike, or know much about them in terms of reliability?

Just don't fall. Haha. I kept falling and breaking stuff. They really aren't that expensive at all. Well I'm comparing this to auto's. a couple grand on a bike can get you pretty far. And maintaining them isn't a pita. Pretty simple.

I have a lot of experience on two wheels, started riding mini bikes when I was about 5. Since then I think I've logged just over 60k between my F2, F4i, 600rr, and Victory.

I've got my eyes on a 2004 Yamaha Yz250f. Guy said its got an aftermarket slip on, new fender plastics, and a motor rebuild with 6-7 hours on it. He's asking $1900 obo and taking trades for misc stuff..

Thanks for all the well wishes. It is in Jackson. We are very excited. 5.5 acres for the kids to run around on. 4.5car attached garage for a temporary BMW storage facility, and a 2500sqft out building that needs plumbing, electric and concrete. That will be the permanent BMW storage facility.

man that sounds amazing! I wish my work was located a bit further west. It has been hard to find the right house in the right area. There are just too many dumpy parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha that I don't want to be anywhere near.

I'd love to live in Hartland but the commute would just be a bit too much.
