    Congrats on the new gig!

    I've been impressed with my 2012 f150 xlt with the 5.0. Granted I'm coming from an 03 Tundra. Tows great, comfortable, and better mileage.

      I do enjoy the Raptors.  I was very close to replacing my Gen1 with an F250.  Wife won out and I now have a '17 Gen2.  They are fun trucks, but nothing really more than a cool looking F150 (which are pretty cool looking in their own right).

      There are constant rumors about putting the Mustang V8 into the raptor, if and only if that happens will Gen2 raptos really take a resale tumble.  It's stupid how well they retain their value.

      Thanks guys!  So I pulled the trigger on the blue XLT today and I'm picking it up tomorrow.  It's a 2.7 Ecoboost which is all I really need for what I tow.  It's got everything I wanted in a truck other than the tailgate step ladder but I suppose my knees can hold out for a bit longer and I'll roll my fat ass in the bed.  Funny thing about the raptor is my wife is 100% on board and says it's the only truck she'd drive but the practicality just isn't there for me to drive one every day.  Maybe her next vehicle...

            So I bought that truck on Thursday and put about 200 miles on it Friday for work.  I like it a lot!  The navigation is really intuitive but I'll probably use the Android auto or Apple carplay most of the time.  The 2.7 got about 24mpg and I'm hoping to average 20-22 mpg with this thing.  I'm happy with the purchase so far but did cry a little bit when I pulled up to a customer and he had a brand new Raptor supercrew in the same color as my truck sitting outside the shop with a 2" leveling kit and brand new Nitto ridgegrapplers.  Someday...

                Android Auto and Car Play make me want a new car. I really enjoyed the Fusion I rented earlier this year, the new Sync system is good on its own too.

                  I was really surprised how good the navigation was on the sync3 system.

                          Don't cry too much about the Raptor.  If he did in fact put a 2" leveling kit, all of us other Raptor owners will laugh at him.  That is NOT how you lift or modify a Raptor.

                              Yell (scold) if you must, but I bought another car and its not a BMW.

                              I use to have an IS300 with air ride prior to my E30. When I sold that, I kept the air ride and always said I would buy another later on down the road. Well.. I happened across an is250 sport last week that was dirty everywhere, including a vomit filled back seat from the demon crotch droplets this lady called children. It also needed some small items (Brakes & TPMS), but had low milles and a low price. I don't plan on keeping this one, but I might relive my past by installing wheels and air ride. 🙃

                              After its first wash in years;

                                    Generally, yes, that would go into the 'hated mod' category too.  I however give a bit more leniency to wheel size though.  On my Gen 1 I went with 18" (up from stock 17") with the stock size 35" tire and really liked the look.  Other Raptor owners hated it and said I defiled the truck.  My Gen 2 I have 20" wheel with 37" tires, again, I really like the look and feel the tire to wheel ratio still works.  22" is a bit big for me especially if he's still on 35's, but to each his own.  Most Raptors never leave the pavement.

                                    The reason we all get so excited about the lift mods, is that all the suspension is set up ready to be lifted without the stupid spacers.  Putting spacers in means the owner (or installer) knows nothing about the Raptor.

                                      That makes sense regarding the suspension.  So this is the actual truck.  The tires a really nice but I think the wheels and wheel lights fall into the "Concrete Cowboy" or "Mall Crawler" category.  To each their own, he's driving a brand new raptor with $6k in wheels and tires and i'm driving around in a used F150 and an 8 year old BMW.

                                        True, and I agree. Its a really good example of money can't buy taste. Taste is more of a development with exposed time and knowledge to a subject. Everything has its place, whether its liked or not by the masses.

                                          Agreed.  Bit overdone in my opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion.  If he likes it, more power to him!
