The tape measure says it will fit with an inch between the head and firewall and right up to the electric fan assembly in front, however the electric fan assembly is 4" thick so I will put a thinner one in. The bay is way wider and deeper so that is no problem. My main hurdles are moving the steering rack because it currently is behind the front axles and high above the subframe, the transfer case output to the rear goes under the rack currently. I plan to move it to in front of the axle and swap the knuckles. I might also ream the tapered hole for the tie rod end the opposite direction so the tie rod end inserts from the bottom rather than the top how it is currently. It depends if the angle gets too extreme when I lower the rack 3 or 4 inches. I think I will need to use the BMW rack and make my own tie rod end extensions because the Toyota one would be backwards if I move it to the front of the axle.

Been waiting 9 hours for a car to be towed by AAA. Does that seem right? I've never used it before but that doesn't seem like customer service.
Hmm they should have been there in an hour...

I don't think I've ever waited 9 hours during a snow storm 1 time I know I waited about 6. I feel bad for these guys during these busy times. They just get shit on and people are pretty ungrateful when the driver does show up. I've always volunteered to help them if I have to call a tow truck, particularly if it involves crawling around in snow to attach the tow hook.

Well the car is finally to my home. They explained that they were having trouble finding a company that would tow it almost 100 miles. Understandable, I bought this hunk of junk for $400 from Chicagoland.
Last picture is the reason the car was so cheap. The person I bought it from was a pollock and didn't speak any English besides yes and no. Google translater said what I believe was. I change battery and no turn key.
I was a little uneasy as I had to pay the guy for the car and hope that AAA would come.

Am I having deja vu? Do you now own 2 S Class AMG's? What's the plan?

When you say it like that it sounds good.
With my limited time I'm going to check all the easy stuff and if I can get it to run possibly daily it. Not worry about it rusting or getting dented or mileage. It has 130,000 miles so nothing crazy to begin with. My other s55 now that I spent a bunch of time and money on it I don't drive it.
If I can't get it running within a few weeks I will just strip it. Save the motor for a future build and make some cash.

Something something E36 swap something something, right?
I'm not saying it is going to happen but what else could it be.

Good deal. The econo power battery is a refurbished unit from Interstate. I have an account with them and those batteries are only $35 regardless of the size with a 1 year warranty.
Interesting, well it didn't stand up to being hooked up backwards.
