My 3MZ is rather unrefined and coarse at higher rpm. The 2MZ non-vanos in my 99 sienna was a lot more smooth. How is yours?

Like any other Toyota, also like the VQ30 that was in my Maxima, Not bad but definitely Meh...  It's sure no BMW. 

I lol'd at "non vanos"  Pretty sure that would be a 1MZ.  The 2MZ was a 2.5l and not in Siennas here.  Yours would have the 3.0.

No, it looks fine, other than being dark. I changed about half of it with redline d4.

Yeah clutch packs are probably cashed out.

A manual sienna sounds miserable.  It's bad enough driving a mini van let alone having to actually be cognizant and conscious while doing so. They're the most practical thing a human can own but they're soul sucking mobiles.

Yup, I will take it apart and see what it looks like.  Used ones are expensive, I will try my hand at rebuilding it myself.  Individual friction and steel discs are available, it can't be that bad.

Eh, I am crazy, I'd rather shift it myself.  Yes it is still a soul sucking vehicle, I won't be driving it much thankfully.

Bad news though, TCU and ECU are integrated as one unit.  That kills my chance of swapping.  I am not going to go through that much work to figure out ECU programming.

That would be amazing, RWD would be preferred, I couldn't find any manual transmission ones for sale.

Yea the manual got dropped when the supercharger was added. Also it was only 158 HP lol. Still a pretty classy beast.

First, I'll admit I don't know much about transmissions, but wouldn't it be Far Far easier to find an old automatic tranny in a junkyard from a Sienna and put that in?

Yea, used U151F transmissions are expensive though.  About 1000 for a scrapyard one.  I will (attempt to) rebuild the one I have.
