Sadly the e34 isn't sorted out yet, but I will be looking to have some fun with it once it's road-worthy.

Also the guy who was too cool for our winter drift meet owns a red 1st gen MR2....

The pdx event was a good time. I ran in the 2wd group with the 318is and had four runs in the morning and did another five in the afternoon. By the afternoon session, parts of the back half of the course were a mix of bumping in and out of ice ruts and sliding on glass. Fun times.

Just came here to look this up. When's the next event? I got my heat working and front suspension back in shape. Snows are getting installed tomorrow...

Went to Nue's yesterday to check out the impacts.  The bosch and Makita offerings for Impact are no where near the torque ratings for comparable Milwaukee units.  I didn't even look at dewalts.  Pretty much sucks.  I'll either be sticking with air or looking to see what else is out there.

i have the bosch 18v stuff. very tough, and feels high quality. its even a lower-end set and the torque on both the drill and impact are very good. the 'impact' screw guns arent any good for automotive bolts, though. different tool.

I haven't been to a winter one, but their summer events seem to be run pretty smoothly. They run on the small track obviously. they just put a few cones out to keep the speeds down a bit.

Ive had a Milwaukee Impact for over a year now with the 5.0 battery and I have zero complaints other than it being sort of heavy but that's because of the huge battery.

                            Meh, I'll just keep looking.

My milwaukee hatred goes a little further, and it is really similar to my Apple hatred....it stems from the people who have them.  All I was told for years was how unbelievably awesome the Milwaukee tools were.  Back before the super sawzall came out, a plumber was going on and on how awesome his milwaukee sawzall was  He even demonstrated how quick he could cut out the boot holes I was going to cut in.  I grabbed my portercable and cut out 2.5 in the time he cut out the 1.  He then saidd it didn't matter how fast it was, the milwaukee was still better.  Blind allegence at it's best.  When the super sawzall came out it was equal to my portercable, but cost twice as much.....completely stupid.  The drills were about the same when campaired ot my makita's back then.

If I buy a milwaukee tool, I'll be that guy, I'll be the one badmouthing other tools because they don't say Milwaukee on them.  I can't be that guy.

The piece of shit harbor freight impact I bought for $29 that I plug into my wall has taken every bolt/nut out on my car. If the tool works it works. But I guess I didn't get a sick case for it.

I was the same way about Apple products. Then I bought an iPhone 5S. Now I can't wait for the 7 to come out so I can snag one.
