No dog in this naming fight, but would like the stadium tax to go away. Despite promises that it's almost done and will be phased out I'm not holding my breath on that one. First slated sunset was 2014, and then moved back to 2018, and then to the current promises of end of 2019 or 2020 at the latest.
Stadium has been an asset and the parking lot is great as an autox venue, but the political maneuverings that got this approved in 1996 were a travesty.

Imagine how good you would look wearing this....
Someone in my class today saw this for sale and had to show everyone. I recognized it and said I knew who had it. What does it need to be driveable?

not anymore

It feels like re-naming a boat, which is apparently really bad luck (and pisses off Poseidon, which is something I'd like to avoid when on a boat). In all fairness, it sounds like Miller doesn't want to pay up for the naming rights and so it makes perfect business sense to bring in a new sponsor so there probably isn't much anyone can do about it. I will likely just keep calling it Miller park out of habit since it's been that way for nearly 20 years.

What happened? I haven't been down there in a while.

I got an email from the MKE region SCCA confirming that the Brewers were no longer renting the lots for any driving events (not just SCCA, sounds like everyone)... hopefully they can find a new place to run in the area. Not sure anything would be comparable though, Miller Park's lots were basically perfect.

Exactly what happened to me!

MOMster truck is sold!! The buyer reposted it the same day trying to part it out. LOL
Must have way too much time on his hands...

Anybody else down the HiFi audio rabbit hole?
Why are all of my interests expensive?
I've been avoiding It, just sticking with mid level home theater set up for now until I can upgrade speakers. Then I can justify the time of ripping CD's to lossless and buying what I want or a Tidal subscription.

I wouldn't say any of my stuff is HiFi (nor do I really need it to be), but I suppose it's not too bad for a college student. I've got a pair of Chane A1.4's across the front with a set of Wharfedale 10.1's as surrounds, and a BIC PL200 II used mainly for movies. The last piece of the current puzzle is a center, but I've been really dragging my feet on it.

Have you found a noticeable difference between FLAC and 320? I've read there is almost no discernible difference between 320 and 256. 256 is what the Apple TV outputs to my receiver.

Wharfedale Diamonds? I bought a $90 Yamaha center channel that has worked pretty well for what I wanted out of it. Definitely plan to upgrade in the future based on how much audio is pushed out of it.
I had a set of hand me down, hand me down Yamaha NS-4 studio monitors, which were really good for their age(almost 40 years old). But I was doing a ton of research online and then ended up at Soundworld in Appleton last Saturday. Ended up leaving with some KEF Q350s...
They do sound absolutely phenomenal. They image incredibly. Mid clarity is a HUGE improvement over my NS-4s.
Only can justify it because I sold my old PC and some of my extra TVs.

I used to be into home stereo stuff, but never got interested in anything with more than 2 channels, since my primary interest is music which is only recorded in stereo.
My NAD CD player took a crap, but that was feeding a Rega Brio (40w integrated amp), which was driving a pair of Polk RTi25 bookshelf speakers. It sounded great and I have less than $400 in it.
You can spend a lot more, but like you said, it's a rabbit hole. Costs increase dramatically at the high end, and your returns diminish rapidly once you start spending more than $500-1000 on an amp or a pair of speakers. A lot of the high end stuff actually measures worse on the test bench (THD on amps for example), despite allegedly sounding "better".

Yeah, these speakers were the absolute top of the range I wanted to spend. My center channel, surround, and sub cost $250 all together. I think it sounds great for movies.
I mainly listen to music like you do, so I wanted something that was quality and would last me for years. Sound World also gave me a 10% discount off the price which was phenomenal.
I just power these from my Onkyo receiver which surprisingly puts out a ton of per channel(I think like 240W?). All my media feeds into it and the speakers come from it and just have one HDMI to the TV. IR from the Apple TV remote turns on the receiver and the TV when you interact with it, so it's really easy to work with.
But check out Sound World when you're back at the shop next, cool to browse around. Have a sales person demo their $30,000 system they have set up.

I bought a phono cartridge there many years ago. Got it for way below list price, and the staff seemed pretty knowledgeable. Their "used" section has some cool stuff in it sometimes too.

My little experience with FLAC was years ago, I haven't touched my actual music library in a while. Because I've always lived with roommates I didn't have a private place for a proper setup. Now the wife and I spend most of our time watching TV and movies. Short term goal is to get some atomos uppers to put my Sony STR DN1080 to work, then I'll replace the rest of the basic yahmaha home theater speakers when I can. All my music listening is through streaming services while I'm driving as that's mainly when I have time.

Pre-facelift Rega Brio. Bought it off ebay for $260-ish? This thing has been satisfying all of my amplifying needs for maybe 15 years now? It's got an input selector and a volume knob. All the features you need, and none that you don't. #purist
Also swapped out the Polks for a pair of Mission M71s that I wanted back in the day. Not much different really, just better looking.
