Do you have a mig with gas? You can buy spools of stainless and mig it.
I have a mig that can be set up for gas (just need to buy a tank). I've never made an exhaust before, so I'd like to give it a go in mild steel instead of screwing up a bunch of nicer stainless parts

I think you need Tri-mix (Argon Helium Carbon Dioxide)

You have to buy a certain stainless wire that will work with standard 75/25 gas. When I get home I will look at the stainless spool I have and let you know the number.

That would be awesome, thanks!

Better late than never. So, I use ER309L stainless mig wire. Some main reasons are I mostly weld mild steel with 75/25 gas. The ER309L can be used with 75/25 gas saving me from having to buy another tank with tri-mix. Makes it easier to swap from mild wire to stainless wire. Also, the ER309L can be used to weld stainless to dissimilar metals, such as mild steel and other forms of stainless steel too. This makes it the most convenient stainless mig wire type imo.
