there were some choice words bluted out. It is still technically useable but......so pissed. I can't even blame anyone but me. I didn't have the bike secured properly.

I'm confused... You bashed the header on your bike, did it fall or? I'm lost.. haha

I have it on a rear stand and a front tipple stand (the kind with a peg up between the forks into the triple tree). Well, I'm changing the tripple tree out, among many other things, so i had to support the front without anthing to connect to. I thought I had it (all the fairing is off except the headlight cowling) but the rear stand rolled out and it slammed down on the header which is the lowest part of the bike when the fairing is off.

Lets suffice it to say, it's a crappy non-BMW

Here it was the last time it was all together:

            08. There was no black and gold in 07. Most people don't even know how to differentiate down to that though!

It will look quite different when it's back together again.

Fun bikes. We had a black and gold '08 at the shop I used to work at. It had a power commander and Leo Vince pipes. It was ripper, needless to say.

Yeah ducatis are beautiful bikes. I'm an inline 4 fan, and always had a hard on for R1's. Really sucks that it's been down all season so far. Got the triple mosly mounted last night, but I have to fabricate a tool to tighten the inner nut. Not tight enough.

I like almost anything on two wheels. I've had 3 Hondas (F2, F4i, 600rr), and I've ridden my brothers Buell XB9r a lot, as well as my 1507cc Victory :)

V-twins just do it for me, I like the noise and relatively flat power band. The top end rush of I4s is awesome, the 06 1000rr I rode was devastatingly fast.. I'm pumped that with the release of the 1199, the 1098 should start dropping in price pretty darn soon!

Whats wrong with the R1? I know you had the exhaust pipe issue, any mechanical things wrong?

Nothing is 'wrong' with it, just went a little overboard with the modifications and have very little time to work on it. Now a bunch of things have gotten out of hand, wrong stuff etc, so it's been dragging.

No, a blown motor would be easy....buy a new motor.

                                  Some of the mods are:

OZ wheels (front al, rear mg)

                                  New power pur tires

                                  ohlins forks....converted to 108mm spacing

                                  brembo calipers

                                  speigler lines with quick release

                                  Braketech rotors

                                  all titanium front end hardware

                                  YEC triple

                                  Graves clip ons

                                  Rizoma grps and bar ends

                                  CRG clutch lever and perch

billet brembo MC with remote adjuster

                                  Billet velocity stacks

                                  woodcraft engine covers

                                  Titanium engine hardware

                                  YEC ECU

Full titanium graves exhaust - which is now smashed

                                  lightweight rear sprocket

                                  underslung brembo rear caliper

                                  braking rear rotor

                                  There is probably more...

This is the second round of mods. There was a bunch of stuff I puton last year.

It's not blown. But the valve train is destroyed, destroyed the pistons and some other stuff. I don't know entirely, as it's trickled down the river of friends haah
