Anyone wanna come help me pull a motor/trans out of a wrecked 325is next week? Located in Darlington WI, I'll provide drinks/lunch, gas money, and it should be on a 2 post lift with the front pulled off.

I'm around Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

      Sweeeet..

I'm trying to figure out exactly how to tell what kind of cams it has without completely removing everything. If it doesn't actually have the M camshafts I'd probably pass..

If you can get something in there to measure lift you can tell. I think 9mm lift for m50/52 cams and 10.2mm for s50/52. Obd2 cams are thicker in the shaft of the casting for less vibration but the same profile. The obd2 ones need the obd2 trays and lifters as well for clearance of the thicker camshaft.

The difference between the round area and the max diameter area is the lift. You should be able to check it with a caliper.

I made a deposit for work to get started on my barn/shop.  It is 32x42', you can't see in this picture but one side of the roof is way beyond repair the arch is sagged the wrong way on the majority of the North side, left in the picture.

              IMAG0835zpscrhehajv.jpg[/URL]

When finished it will have a 12'6" ceiling downstairs and a good sized upstairs.  It will look like the Amish barns which are plentiful around here.  An Amish crew is doing the work.  Pretty excited for a real shop.  The structure will be done and sealed up before winter.

It is 100' from my house, in the middle of nowhere northern Iowa, If anyone is traveling up I35 let me know and stop by.  We live pretty close to the Diamond Joe casino by the Iowa/Minnesota border.  (I used to live in Southwest WI)  Probably no driveway, the house has a 2 car attached garage so that will be for the daily drivers.  There is somewhat of an old gravel driveway under the grass leading to the overhead door so the yard is pretty firm.

Got room for me to park the semi? Haha but really an old barn is gonna make a awesome man cave! My grandparents have a friend that converted the hay loft on his hobby farm into a full size bar with pool tables and slots and even a coin operated mini marry-go-round.

I am right on the blacktop, you wouldn't make it in the driveway with a trailer but just the truck would be no problem.  There is truck parking at the welcome to Iowa rest area one mile away.  Do you come by this way much?  Let me know if you are, you should stop in for sure if I am home.

The upstairs will eventually be finished out like a studio apartment most likely.

I am most excited to observe the Amish tools, notably the Dewalt chop saw with a 2 stroke gas engine instead of electric.

That's exactly what I'm looking for; a country house with an old barn to turn into a shop/workspace. Too bad the options in Dane Co are hella limited..
