So my list is getting shorter for this thing, but it looks like I won't be ready for next weekend. Fortune is taking their sweet time shipping my coilovers. They made a label for them on the 10th and so far there has been no movement, I will be calling them tomorrow.

Since I won't be making it I'll be taking my time which is probably for the best anyways. Today I got the trans mount readjusted (didn't like how there was a touch of movement, solid mounts probably vibrated something loose) the driveshaft is in with the giubo properly preloaded and correctly installed (they are offset & the internet sucks) still waiting for new driveshaft hardware for the portion of it that attaches to the giubo. The four nuts on the diff flange will need to be torqued as well. Fixed a shifter (rear carrier) issue - just needed to stop hitting it with my purse) got the kick panel installed and went thru the pedal box area and did some cleanup of the rats nest

The pedal box area is by far my least favorite area to work on the car because I am not 5' 2" and 125lbs.

I also cleaned up the exhaust because it has been outside since last October. I also re routed my stainless brake lines because I Stevie wonder'd them in there the first go around

I need to get an appointment to an exhaust shop so I can have them weld on some actual mounts for this thing. I'm really tired of using banding to hold this pile on.

Coilovers came in on Friday when I was in the dells

                8k/10k rates

I am dropping the fronts off at a local off-road shop so they can be welded tomorrow. When I called to ask about suspension they said "oh, you need some hoops welded on?" Had to describe that the car was not going off-road intentionally.

Also put one of the rears on because I got bored. The spring adjuster is as "low" as it will go, but the shock is not. I still need to read up on setting them correctly, but for now I was anxious to put one on for grins

I believe I am supposed to use oem and fortune auto pads in unison

                Wheel on at "full droop"

I will certainly need to adjust these after getting some weight on it

Coilovers have been dropped off for welding. Should be able to pick them up tomorrow!

Hopefully they don't get slag in the threads or the hub area lol

I made a 3 page PDF with instructions and explained it twice so I should be good. Call me OCD but I don't need anymore stupid setbacks

Ended up using MIG. Just talked to him on the phone. He said they went well and he took his time to ensure nothing cracked and kept slag out of important areas

Tis drying now. Only put two coats on because it got late & it should be good enough as they finish wasn't really terrible on them

                                    687ae45b32bcc33e07bc6f28d4ca1e68.jpg

Also got both rears in. For now I spun the adjustment collars all the way to the bottom.

Talked with Senior Rice about adjusting the fronts, it'll be a lot of installing/removing to get them where I want. Good news is I am in the home stretch-ish

Well, pretty much got everything back together last night. Coilovers in, stud conversion, front brake caliper/rotor etc etc.

had to fill up the reservoir about 3/4 times before we even started to bleed

Starting at the passenger rear I had Brooke pump the brakes. This is when i noticed fluid seeping from the bleeder screw, I quickly just reached for it with my hand &and turned (thinking it was just loose from shipment). Turns out I could over tighten it by hand and the threads are cooked in the casting themselves. It must've been put together cross threaded so it felt snug when they sent it, but was all dicked when I tried to actually use it

I sent blunt an email about it last night so we wil see what he has to say

I cannot tell you how frustrating it is being almost done and wanting to finish on your 3 day weekend but you can't because "new" parts (remanufactured) aren't up to par.

Silver lining is that it happened to the first caliper, so it's not like I had the entire system bled or anything
