Replaced the mushy rubber front subframe bushings on the Volvo with delrin ones from Kaplhenke racing this morning. It still doesn't feel like a BMW but a huge improvement.

So if I towed my Maxima to the Nissan dealer and said the security system is locked I just need the security reset why the guy is worried about the back seat being removed or a gasket that doesn't look quite right on the intake manifold? Nice of him to check that out but I'm only paying for the service I asked for... maybe today they will actually just reset it.

Most dealerships are flat rate or hourly+flat rate so they're making money on upselling recommended repairs.

One look at my Nissan and it's obvious that I am just running it into the ground and don't care as long as it starts and drives. 250k miles, very rusty etc. It's been a good car besides the random security lock issue. It was a flaw in 99 and part of 2000. Steer clear of those.

I've seen people spend silly money on a car you never thought they should spend it on.  Can't judge an owner by their rust my friend.

+2. really, any one of us driving an older car like e30, e36, e34, etc is dumping a far higher percentage of $ based on actual car value than is logical to most people.

Speaking of spending a ton of money on an older car, I just bought an engine to swap into my already swapped e36 today.

But these are BMWs that we are talking about. A rusted out Nissan is totally different, although it is a 5spd. :)

I agree with Hundyandley, I am very excited it is washing the salt away.  We had clean roads, then that last snow came and they salted the hell out of them again.

I'm seeing snow in the forcast for Saturday morning, and then 56 degrees on Sunday...

I still haven't got any summer tires for the e34, and the e21 is a couple months away from being roadworthy, so I'm fine with more snow 😄

The alternator died on the coupe yesterday. I'm actually really glad it happened now versus two weeks from now on my trip to Euro District=)

Alternators are just another unnecesary modern convienience. I once drove an 80s Chevy van from Chicago to Appleton with a conked out alternator. It was EFI too, so it was running the fuel pump, injectors, etc the whole time, and it was my dad's van, so it had the cheapest-one-you-can-get-at-walmart battery.

Just buy one of those solar battery chargers from Harbor Freight, and travel like an old person. Take some extra time to stop and take in your surroundings. Don't just stop at the wayside because you have to piss like a race horse. Stop at every wayside, because you have nothing better to do. Set up a lawn chair and eat some cheese and crackers. Try to start conversations with your fellow travelers...

                                          awfully quiet in here.

                                          Did full interior/exterior on the wife's e90.

Only 1 laundry basket of "shit" (coats, kids toys, etc) this time!!!

I know you're all thinking......he's happy about 1 basket of shit?
