I went with the chevy alternator because.

    1. THe largest alternator for a jetta is 270amps for $600

    2. Chevy alts go up to 350 usually. and this 380 was $500 from iraggi

Anyways. Here is the info on the build.

1991 MKII Volkswagen VW Jetta 1.8L with pulley/belt swap (rebuilt motor and my winter car)

Also Upgraded rear springs off of a Passat B3/B5 to handle the weight.

    VW JETTA has

    Head Unit Kenwood KDC-X895

Front stage is garbage LOL (not stock, but still nothing special)

3 Runs of 1/0 Gauge OFC Power

3 Runs of 1/0 Gauge OFC Ground

    No.1 Copper Bus Bars (99.7% + pureness)

    1 XS Power D3400

    2 XS Power XP3000

380 Amp Iraggi Alternator (14.7v cold and 14.5 hot) (For a 99-04 chevy)

    Exile X5 Amplifier wired @ 2 ohm

2 12 inch Ascendant Audio Mayhems (in the videos are 2 12 inch zv3 Sundowns. I need to make new videos of the mayhems)

Birchwood box. Tuned Around 32-34 hertz. About 5-5.5 cubic feet

1 Layer of Dynamat in the trunk

1 layer of 8MM foam through out the whole car and in the trunk

Amp and head unit tuned with the SMD DD-1

Voltage never drops below 13.5 with the revs up on heavy bass.

Too fit the box. I literally had to hammer down the corners of my trunk. Sand the corners of the box. And hammer down some of the floor in the trunk.

Video was filmed with a Canon 600d (60 FPS @ 720p) and we used an external mic

    Songs

Lil Wyte Gun Down Ft. Frayser Boy and Partee

    Album Still Doubted?

    4's City by 4 Legacy

    How Low Remix Ludacris

A big thanks to my buddy Damon for tapping the copper bars for me for free and for adding the 45s to my box.

And to my job for giving me the copper for free.

Also to a huge thanks to @mylows10 and @keep_hope_alive @dbeez

Dbeez built my box. mylows10 and keep hope alive answered a ton of questions I had and helped me learn a lot through the whole project.

Its definitely not. Finished the build. Notice that I only lose 1 volt on heavy notes. With 5000 watts. Thats because of the alternator plus the 3 batteries.

DC power, Mechman, Iraggi, OHio Generators, Michael Singer. All people who make H.O. put alternators.

More pictures. Cut out the cars original rear deck and made our own for the amp.

Also the first picture of the wheel well is the car on blown struts. Then new struts. And then the passat springs

And the above pics were my sundown Zv3s. I had them for less than 2 weeks in the car. Switched to the mayhems because they handle more RMS than the zv3s.

Here is an overview of the system. I am sorry that the camera goes out of focus a lot. Its a cannon 600d (t3i rebel). The lens is a manual one. So I have to adjust it a lot. I am not used to it either since it's not my camera.

It was a lot of work. I am glad I did my first big build on my winter car. Because doing a project like this ruins the car. All those runs of wire have to come through the firewall somehow. And the carpeting at to get cut up a little. And the smashing of the trunk LOL. and the cutting out of the factory rear deck.

No. I am not worried about the amp getting stolen because the tint is so dark. the car looks like nothing special. like. really nothing special. and the amp is screwed down. and the rear doors down open LOL.

And yeah. Its loud. But there is still potential. I have the gain on the amp at 1/4 and the amp doesn't clip until 2/3. But I can't turn it up because the box is too efficient and the subs bottom out. The box I have the 12s in is 5.5ft3 after displacement.

Going to build a new box that is 4ft3 after displacement and use aeroports. That way I can actually give them the 5000. Also. I will be adding a 2nd alternator next year. Its going where the A/C used to be. It shouldn't be too hard to make it mount.

They are nice to have. But I don't have any audio in my bmw. Don't care for it in that car. I like that car to be light and sport feeling. even though its slow. Besides. An H.O alternator for an 82 320i would be hard to fine. and mounting one from a chevy like I did with my jetta would be harder.
