I had the same issue on my e46, deleted it and it is 100% smoother than before. A noticeable increase in torque as well

Didn't feel the need to spend $150 on the whole contraption.
I still have vacuum in the crank case...... so that is odd.
Edit: without any hoses connected to it. I know this because I replaced the valve cover and there were no hoses going to it.
