You know how great it would be if there was a comments section on craigslist ad's... the hilarity that would ensue!

I texted the guy and asked for the vin to verify the authenticity of it being an m5 wagon. Let's see what happens.
-
I just texted him too asking for the vin. Vin Busters!!!
-
haha! I didn't know this would turn into a game.
-
screenshot so we don't lose it as the harassment begins.
i texted him
me: is dat real m5?
him: from the story that I know behind it, it should be.
me: whats the story?
him: i bought the car 2 years ago from my good friend. He got the car from a guy in Idaho. The guy that lived in Idaho got it from one of his good friends that was in Germany and found the wagon in the junkyard without the original s38 so he had it brought over into the US And swapped the s50 and Borg Warner 5 spd trans into the m5 and under the table had someone swap vins with a CA owned 525it with 290k miles on it. So in 2010 if you look up the carfax for the vin that is currently on the m5, it shows that the mileage was rolled back to 209k and color of the car requested as black. They got rid of all orginial m5 vins left in the car and did a full swap somehow to make it completely legal to drive yet still illegal cause of swapped vins. The title clean for the car as it sits currently and I have had no issue registereing it. I'm still not positive it is the real deal but he story makes sense and carfax is there to prove it so yes it should be real.
me:so it has no m5 motor, no m5 suspension, no m5 front and rear bumper, no m5 seats, and no m5 vin an somehow its still an m5?
him: I guess so. That's what I've been told and the carfax is the only thing that someone keeps the story alive. But since I cannot prove it and it sucks but I'm willing to let it go for only 9k if your interested for a slammed aired out e34 wagon.
----------------
well he's still dreaming, but he came down 6k pretty fast.

-
summary: the only part of this car that appears to be m5 are the side mirrors, which may well be aftermarket.
-
Wow. Well i guess thats why he wont text me the vin. After all that bullshit, how can ge still say the story makes sense. He's been lied to and knows it and is too deep to admit he's been fooled. Theres no way to eliminate every vin on the car. It's fucking stamped all over body panels and etched into pieces on the car.
-
Pat, I can text you a vin from one of my cars so you dont feel left out.
I'll snag the vin off my Chevy work truck.....that'll keep him busy on real-oem!!!
-
I would appreciate that... i was unexplicably angry about that lol.
-
It has Motorsport handles too if anyone cares lol

Spotted this on my way home from work Friday. '82 635csi gray market import with 89k. Car was clean underneath and although it was covered in dust, the graphite paint looked great. Black interior was looked great except the carpet was faded from age. No rust in the common areas. Car has more or less sat a long time. The phone # on the sign is for the mechanic who is helping sell the car. Just did a tune up and replaced some vacuum lines, says it just needs to be driven! $5500 takes her home!
