I paid $9k for it. Main reason I was OK with paying a little higher is that the 2006 is a little more rare. It has the 2.5L engine vs the 2.0L in the 2005. There's only roughly a little over 400 of the 2006s left in the country. And this one is all original. Only thing that was upgraded are the brakes. Drilled/slotted rotors, better pads and SS braided lines.

Congrats! I'm sure this will be way more fun in the winter than the Jetta.

sweet car, great way to avoid WRX insurance premiums.  like swapping an M motor into a regular 3 series.

$9K!?  Wow...I hope it is as nice as you say.  I really like these cars and will be sad to see my friends go.  His will be FS for around half that.

Yup. It definitely is! Even all the clean/original 2005s I found were in the $7-$8k range

I love Saaburus=) Did Saab also do something about the terribly cheap subaru interior or did they leave it alone?

Looks to be the same as the wrx model. It has a two tone interior tho.

Looks like I will be doing the secondary air pump delete next week once I get the block off plates in the mail. CEL came on for the switch being stuck closed/open. I also dabbled in the tuning aspect for subarus. Pretty neat that you can do anything and everything with a OBD2 to usb "tactrix" cable and some free software on a laptop.

If you haven't bought a tactrix yet, I modified a 10$ ebay vag com cable and I can flash and log my wrx with great success.

The amount of open source tuning available to subaru's, and how much the community is involved and helps, just blows my mind. Its phenomenal.

I got an already modified vag-com cable off ebay for $25. Once I got the correct drivers downloaded on my laptop it worked like a charm.

Went ahead and disabled the 2 air pump CEL codes that kept popping up for now. I should be getting the block off plates in the mail early next week, so I will remove the air pump system then. Disabling the codes will at least allow me to get the required emissions test done and out of the way.
