So why is there no insurance on the vehicle and a claim being made?

The car isn't worth it to have full coverage.

Kindof like our welcome to the neighborhood. A week after we moved in someone broke into the garage and stole my road bike and a bunch of tools. I miss out old neighborhood where there was no need to lock anything and the worst that might happen is a drunk college student wanders in to sleep on the couch. Sent from my potato phone

Ever find the bike since then?

Well the police found the car a week later in North Milwaukee. One witness said he saw it crash into a parked car and 4 black guys ran off. I was talking to the detective about this case, and he said these guys steal these cars, and tint the windows right away. So that way when the cops pull up they cant see anything inside, and when they flip on the red and blues they just take off. He told me they rarely chase these vehicles anymore because its not worth the risk when it usually comes to a bad ending for either side. So basically there is little to no hope in catching these guys or anyone like them so keep that in mind when doing craigslist deals!

By "North Milwaukee" surely you meant "North Shore" since only distinguished gentlemen drive BMWs.

Ugh. What a bunch of no-talent assclowns

What a shame, you think they would be doing undercover jobs at this point.

Given the pattern it wouldn't be too hard to do a CL bait operation. Even just fake the ad with details and pics and see who shows up to look at the car.

As long as no one leaks any coolant. We should be fine

A good friend of mine is a Milwaukee detective. He asked me the other day "Ever hear of someone tinting the windows on their rental car?" I couldn't think of a reason why they would...

It is AGAINST CODE in Milwaukee to pursue or call ahead for anything (maybe other than murder). So drug dealers get a rental car for a month, tint the windows, then turn them in for another to stay below the radar. As mentioned below if you get pulled over in Milwaukee, wait for the cop to get out of the car and book it, they cannot and will not chase you.

                    FUCK THAT

So messed up man.  I work in a club downtown and there have been similar assclowns who when X person/couple gets out of the car, they will act like valet and drive off, or hop in the car as valet is coming to get in.

Friend works in a restaurant downtown and 3-4 guys were sitting in the waiting area and a customer came in, asked if they were valet and one got up and tried to grab the keys, but my friend stopped it from a potential incident.

Saw a pic of a car across the street from my apartment (car was in a parking lot) with all 4 wheels taken.  I think it was a Yaris or something like that. C'mon!
