Boris, it has not been certified for logbook. It my weekend warrior drift/hpde road america car. As the term of "my interpretation of the rules,". I made that statement because it has not been inspected but it was built to their spec. Maybe pursuit of more education on becoming a certified shop is the way to go. Thanks for your input!

Also for anyone reading pic 1 is not how the cage sits, the front sub assembly is dropped through the floor for purpose of welding the cage 100%

I'll probably be buying an autopower 4 point bolt in soon. Unless you can replicate one for less using 1.75 DOM.

It would be tough to compete with the price of an cage that is mass produced. The above pics are 1.75 DOM

Awesome cage. I don't know too much about the engineering behind different cages, but I will say I love when they are symmetrical like that.

Thanks again, there is something satisfying about making your own car parts or doing your own work on cars! I think most/all on wibimmers.can agree on that feeling!

How long does it take you to make a cage like the one you posted?

It would be hard to guess because that was my first, and with being very particular on my work....2 long weekends or so.

I'm tossing around the idea of a mini cage in the rear that ties in the rear shock mounts and the diff mounting points for an e36 cover on my e30. Any interest from you for this job? Could you PM me an estaminet?

Love that idea, haven't seen that idea produced as a stand alone unit. Currently I am just trying to guage interest, if I move forward with this I will definitely let you know!

This is what I'm thinking but with triangling the shock towers in.

                              Pic is of a z3.

Yup I'm doing that for sure. Hopefully I can CNC a bracket so we can reproduce them easily. Of course small fab work no matter what. Adding in the towers would be easy too.
