Well they offered me the job and I countered that I would like to see more or a signing bonus to help with moving expenses. So we shall see what happens tomorrow. It is more of a lateral move as far as pay but has potential for future growth. Now I am maxed out so it would be a good move in that regard. Or is anyone here looking for a controls engineer? Lots of Allen Bradley experience.

Ive never asked for more money than the position was advertised for. it might be a loss on my end but I really dont haggle numbers on anything. If a glass sea turtle in mexico, 1993 camry on craigslist, brand new car at the dealership etc seems to be a fair deal to me, I pay asking price and go on my way.

I don't think that means you suck at life.
I'm sure you also do plenty of research before your sea turtle, Camry, new car, etc purchases and know that what's fair is fair.
Karma also comes back to bite you if you "act a fool" when haggling......
