      why did they make this fold? no one who spends $5,000 on a BMW bicycle is going to fold it and put in in the trunk - they are going to put it on the roof rack like a trophy and never ride it.

        Its fascinating from an engineering standpoint but i think you are 100% right.

        Id ride one if i had one, that way when it involuntarily folds up on itself I will become a smaller more efficient ball of wreckage on the bike trail allowing others to pass by and laugh more easily

          I know of a few people that ride 5000$ bikes, and they ride the hell out of them! Definitely no folding though, but most of them put them INSIDE the car. Few people would put a 5000$ bike on the roof rack uncovered lol.

              I am the service manager at a bike shop.  Ask me bike questions, I dare you.

              Not a bad deal for $3,300.  Full Ultegra group, and around 16lbs.  The wheel set is no name crap, however.  I'd go with some decent Mavics.
