Well I finally get to mark another one off the high school Ryan's bucket list: buy a Ducati.
I've been drooling over these bikes since I was 15 and my brother bought a Ninja 500.
I think I got a pretty dang good deal. 19k miles, recent $1379 service for the cam belts, fuel pump, fuel lines, checked the rockers for flaking, oil change, and he just tossed in a new battery, rear stand, manual, and some specialty tools. Also has a bunch of carbon fiber bits, including an open clutch cover so you can really hear that dry clutch rattle
It set me back $4200 which I personally think is a bargain for such a classic, beautiful, perfectly running machine.

I cant really complain about money any more, seeing as how my salary more than doubled since last month
So that's your winter beater? I wouldn't want to let a Ford Escape get ruined by the salt either. Good move!
Figured I would just throw some studs on the back wheel, just do wheelies everywhere to keep the slick front wheel off the ground. Probably more economical too because less rolling resistance.

Broke... and happy! A buddy of mine is a tech at Ducati Milwaukee and let me take a monster out for a spin one time... I fell in love! I can't quite tell from the pics but based on that rear end is it a 916?

From what I understand, adjusting the valves is no more difficult than any other bike it just has twice as many of everything lol.

Well, I've never done valves on anything so I'd like help my first time lol
I guess what I meant is that it shouldn't be an issue for your uncle as long as he is not afraid to work on a Ducati. I've met strange people who may be very capable mechanically that will not touch something just because it's a Mercedes, BMW, Ducati, Triumph, VW, etc... you get the idea.

Nice find Ryan! I have always loved the Ducati's myself. I ended up getting a Triumph D675 because I fell in love with the triple engine noise. Would still love to own a Ducati some day too.
