[I love my E39]

Believe waterpump no overheating no smoking, and a leak from the front replaced radiator,rad hoses already. All fluids checked for mix nada.

All of the above. I was the first to look at it when it was listed. It was leaking oil badly, if you opened the heat vents in the car coolant would piss into the engine bay, the exhaust was routed so bad that it was hitting the frame but hanging down right after it that it was almost touching the ground, the carpet was soaked from a bad sunroof gasket( i assume) the dash was painted with a brush, the milage was inaccurate as all the gauges were aftermarket, the battery was floating around in the trunk, the carb needed a rebuild, it had no overdrive, and there was rust bubbling in various spots all over. But besides that, it was a mint $500 car.

Not SMG, its a fake DCT shift knob. I have driven real non-M SMG cars though and yes they suck even more haha.

Anyone else like the idea of buying an e46 M3 with a broken SMG trans and converting the trans to manual?!? I think this is the way I can afford one

That is an Excellent idea!!  Not sure how feasible it is, you might end up spending more on parts that a decent pre-assembled manual car would have cost. SMG M3's are just sad.

You can convert the smg to manual for like nothing especially if you are me. Some minor drilling and a couple new parts(clutch too!) and you are in the game. I've seen the smg cars go for very little and it's the same internals as the 420g.I want one with broken smg pump
