e30 with s50 swap?

hey. next spring im planning on starting an e30 project. and i was wondering what you guys thought about an s50 swapped into an e30 and if anyone has any suggestions.

They're pretty badass, its essentially adding an additional 70 hp to an already pretty light, nimble chassis.

Its been done literally hundreds of times. If you join R3vlimited you'll probably find 100 DIY write ups on the swap

yea. i have just looked around on there a little bit. not too in depth on there. but yea. im gonna try and get a clean shell from cali and do it up. haha

Yeah, whole section dedicated to 24v swaps, and the sticky's on the top are full of good stuff.

24V swap: you wont regret it. more/smoother power, better reliability, and longer lasting (assuming you buy low mileage or rebuilt)

I have an m50 swap and am plenty happy with 30 extra HP, let alone 70.

one thing i was thinking about was that if you use the e30 gauge cluster after the swap

you really should just go over to R3v or e30tech and study and read every swap thread and posts about it. you have much to learn before asking more questions!

yea. i read a little bit when i was at work on break but i didnt get to read that much.

theres a lot to learn. theres about 3 different ways to do each part, so you have to figure out which way works, which way fits your budget, which way is easiest, etc.

if you want to retain the bmw heart, def do s50 swap, if you want more power for less money, theres better options.

im personally considering a boosted m20 stroker.
