Gentlemen, we are reaching that age in life where the high end cars we grew up loving are eventually going to be dropping in price to where mere mortals can actually hope to own them!

My somewhat-realistic-if-I-play-my-cards-right car: the Ferrari 360.

Sounds crazy, right? If you really think about it, these cars can be found in the $60-70k range all day; that's less than the e90 M3 was brand new...

In 5 years it should be common to find them in the low to mid $50k range.

Parts can be expensive, but there are tons of people that change their own belts every 3 years ($350-500 for parts), swap their own oil, trans fluid, coolant, brake fluids etc.. According to many people on FerrariChat, its not unreasonable to expect less than $1k/year for maintenance per 6k miles (assuming you dont need a clutch/tires in the same year). Apparently there are a lot of interchangeable electronic parts to be found from the much cheaper Alfa catalogs as well 1shifty.gif

Also, seeing as how it would be a "fun" car, if something expensive popped up, it could sit in the garage for a month or two while you save up :D

    70.jpg

So, what cars are you excited about possibly being able to afford at some point in the next 5-10-15 years?

In 15 years, I could love to own one of these:

        2008 Porsche 911 Turbo:

        2008Porsche911997TurboRUFRT12-F

        Or one of these:

        2007 Audi R8:

        2007-audi-r8.jpg

        If all of that fails, I'll get a 2013 1 series ///M.

I was surprised to see that the 997 turbo and R8 are both cheaper than I'd initially thought. The original V8 R8s are considered "bargain" DD cars on exotic car forums right now lol

As much as I'd love to drive around in a Ferrari 360, or Audi R8. I'd probably get a 2006 STi in black, with black RPF1's making around 550awhp, reliably. So it'd cost about the samea as the ferrari, but it'd be an absolute animal on the track, and reliability wise would render it an awesome daily.

My next 'cool' car will be a Gallardo.  Black 6-speed.  When I buy it there will need to be a few things in place first.  Financial stability so I don't have to sell the M5 and a place to put it.

I just closed on a house with a 30x60 outbuilding, so give me a couple years to put that together (pour a floor, insulate, heat, cool, etc) and I'll be shopping for a Gallardo.

yeah dude, I know that feel.

Just bought new wipers, steering fluid, did a brake fluid flush, and bought a car wash for my 93 Camry,  time to start saving again.

I've driven one and holy cow they are amazing! I love bmw's but I will definantly be a Porsche guy when I have the means. Some of the last true drivers cars still being made.

This will forever be my dream car though, E28 Alpina B7 Turbo  which might be more expensive by the time I can afford one due to rarity. All these vintage cars have reached their low points already  :( I'd love to have a classic alpina collection.

Ultima GTR.  You can build it yourself and throw any motor you want in it.  My personal requirement is that the engine must scream, ideally with a v12 rhythm.  Other options include Wankel or highly tuned I6 see-->

                      .  Hey, I can dream...

An ultima GTR would be one of mine as well now that I look back. That would be an amazing toy to drive!

most older 'exotics' are pretty realistic if you put 100 miles/year on them.

but whats realistic about resisting the urge to drive a rocketship to work everyday?
